The problem here is that she is an honor student and not a football star. You see where I live Northeastern Penna. there is a 0 tolorence for everyone when referring to weapons, drugs and alachol except football stars. I don't mean to sound cynical but that is the way it is here. (Believe me I have had no personal experiences so I have no axe to grind) , as my 2 children now graduated were girls. But I have seen these people in action (school adminstrators). Number 1 priorty Football, everything else is not only second, but a distant second. But we have all seen this, and as considence has it also with a knife, I refer to OJ. Sorry if I am off topic. But that is the way our society is leaning today. If you think I am kidding please remember I live about 30 minutes South of Berwick. a high school that has won the national high school championship 2 or 3 times in the last 4 years. You should see how they bend the rules to obtain players. That is another story sorry...........Just had to add by .02 cents

That is a real let down. I thought it was so great when my nephew got to make a knife in class. I was really quite envious. Oh well, I might have to go talk to some people in Nicholasville the next time I'm down that way.

I don't believe it's socialist. I don't believe in Amerika, or grand schemes to remove my liberties. I *do* think it's muzzy-headed thinking run amok, plus the natural tendencies of bureaucracies to look for things to do to justify their existence. I'm just G**Damn tired of people thinking they can run MY existence, or that they know what's best for ME and my family, or that 'zeor tolerance' is an excuse for blind freakin stupidity and a lack of judgement on the part of those in power. What happened to this country that caused everyone to stop thinking for themselves?

Do not be mistaken - you DO NOT have East European School system. You would be glad if you did. I am not talking about kids' behaviour (I visited some US schools and I am glad that our schools are the way they are) but I am talking about those idiotic rules.
Guns - no problem - they are not even in our houses and knives? Nobody cares if you have one (if you use it the proper way).
And about socialism in US? I do not want to offend someone but I see one parallel: during the communist era our government kept people's mouths shut by heavy media censorship and providing so called social securities (zero unemployment, cheap food, cheap beer etc). And what about US - can you see it?? Maybe it is time to change the "democracy" you are so proud of?? Again - I am just comparing (I am not offending) since I lived in US for 4 years.
