Are there any quality fixed blade knives for camping?

Requirements are:

badass (tactical looking)

high quality steel/handle

blade length about 5~7"

comes with a sheath (preferably leather, but nylon is OK)

I've been looking at some of the Ka Bar knives on knifeworks.com and found this knife

I really like the style of it, and it seems quality. Ka Bar makes good quality knives right? What do you guys think?

Also, I think this knife is pretty cool ---VVV

This one ^^^ is cool because i like how one side is non serrated, and the other side has only serrates (if thats a word). But I dont like the handle. What other knives have the other side serrated? cause that's a huge plus.

Please enlighten me on these knives with your superior knowledge :D

If you want Badass, look at dark ops. If you want a real bushcrafting knife, check out Bark River, Becker, Fallkniven, RAT Cutlery, and any of a dozen or so bangup guys in our Makers forums.

omg, this knife is extremely badass. your awesome

how much? and where do I buy?

EDIT: $200 is alot of money. I'd buy a bm42 with that much

but can it withstand camping conditions?

Aesthetic badassness is really a horrible way to search for a real knife, especialy the kind that you might need to rely on for survival. You need to determine what your real priorities are so people can give you some suggestions. There are a bunch of knives out there that might qualify as Hollywood-type "badass" looking knives, but those types of knives are often the worst functioning knives out there.

Your missing the point.

The Dark ops suggestion was a joke because dark oops is a joke, they are junk made for mall ninja's.

For a camp/survival knife serrations are something you don't want because for the intended tasks of that kind of knife they do nothing but get in the way. I'm sure you will find what you want just don't confuse junk tactical with quality tactical.

Yeah im probably considered a knife noob. But I still think that dark op is extremely badass looking. If only it was $50 and better quality maybe...

You have a lot to learn, $50 is only going to get you so far with what your looking for and even if the dark ops was that price I still wouldn't get one. Why do you want it to look badass? do you want it to look good or perform? what's your spending limit? What tasks do you want the knife to perform?

If you want a badass-looking knife, get a fantasy blade. Nuff said.

If you want a camping tool, as suggested above, RAT cutlery, BRKT, Becker, Ka-Bar, Fallkniven, or our custom makers will fit you out well.

That said, that Ka-Bar isn't a bad knife for camping. I'd lose the serrations, but that's just my personal taste. They get in the way for carving and such.

I haven't got a fixed blade camp knife of my own, but I'm really wanting a Fallkniven S1.

Mora knives are extremely badass.

I mean those crazy swedes and finns have been killing bad guys with these things.

And for $15, what's not to like?
