Badass Machetes!! modded by Fiddleback

Guys, the new test machete's are in, handles need to be removed, and the new handles put on and shaped. This will happen soon. There are 4 designs I have down there.

I'm hoping to place an order with Imacassa, and get my own blades done. Cross your fingers, I gotta raise some cash.

I am in discussions as we speak with the folks at Imacassa. We may see a true Fiddleback machete come out soon.

Yes, but really only a little money.

Except for postage.

It will be money well spent. I don't have any Imacasas yet, mostly because I wanted something homegrown. So I scratched that itch and picked up the 1944 Ontario and a 20" Collins. The handles on the Collins where laughable, so I am modding it. I'll post a picture if nobody minds.

Count me in for one of your machetes. Will you be doing the handles?

are any of the new ones you got in spoken for already? is there a way to get in on it or am i too late

Two of the ones downstairs are spoken for already. 6 are not. They're a hodge podge though... I'll be doing a much better job when they're my own blades, and they'll be cheaper too!!!

Ok guys, I'm not reading this thread anymore! I have a feeling it'll cost me money!:grumpy::D

A driving force behind this project from its inception in phone calls between Joe and I has been keeping the cost down!!! By buying my own blades. I'll be getting the blades for 75% less than these I'm getting now!! I'm passing that savings directly to y'all. It'll also save me time and therefore $ because I won't have to cut off handles, reshape blades, etc. I haven't gotten the final #'s yet, but I can tell you that these machete's won't be $175, they aren't even going to break the $100 line.

Plus, they're gonna be badass, and I'm gonna get a few different lengths, so you'll have choice!!! I'm also looking into sheaths, which will be available as well.

So keep reading. I'm doing this for y'all.

After you cut a couple of machete handles off, they're all laughable. LOL. I will be doing the handles personally. With a bit more rounding in the back.;)

NTS ... it could not possibly be a Fiddleback if Andy didn't do the handles. He's a great knifemaker ... and getting better all the time ... but his handles are just "unreal.":cool:

I agree. The handle on my Woodsman is not only comfortable and secure, it is unique as well . I can't wait to heft a machete with a Fiddleback handle! :)

I'm thinkin' 18 inches, yellow handles.
To hell with money, it's meant to be spent anyway, right? :D

Yep. Handles are removed. Staring at them wishing I had just been able to choose the profile myself...
