As my Amigo Steven mentioned in another thread I have a pension to beat on the Bagwell drum so what can I say I am back to do it some more. When Bill told me he had to go down Alamo way for some business and he would be carrying a new bowie that he had just finished and was thinking of showing his wife the Alamo I asked for some pics. I thought what would be a better back drop than the Alamo for some shots of him and one of his bowie’s. I remember reading that they found corpse’s of men that had there heads split wide open from the carnage that went on there in that desperate stand. I do not know if this is true but it makes for interesting reading:D. Back to the knife this is a bit from the norm for Bill he usually does not use crown stag preferring to take the base off. I think the handle has a real period look to it and I really like the way this blade turned out from the etch to the shape of the blade. Thanks for looking and I hope you guys enjoy this stuff as much as I do.

Bill and is lovely wife Sidra. Sidra is a talent in her own right. In 05 she won the Woman’s NRA NATIONAL CREEDMORE BLACKPOWDER CHAMPIONSHIP. The match is shot at 800 900 and 1000 yds. In 06 she was the MID RANGE CHAMPION which is shot at 200 300 and 600. She was using a Sharps in 40-65 we are talking about iron sights here folks. Put it this way you would not want to piss off this little lady and stand 500 yds away and give her the bird:D. She is a lovely lady and I have had the pleasure of her company when they have come to visit and well hell I like her better than Bill:D. Bill taught her to shoot and he is no slouch either but we will save that for another time.

That's a beautiful knife, and it really does look as if it were made during that period- albeit a little embelished.

Joe,
I particularly like the blade profile....straight back,
short clip, a useful, continuously curving edge.

The tip geometry is adjusted for penetration, and
(perhaps more importantly) durability.

Russ I am a big fan of your work and that is because you have a fantastic eye. Bill definately has his blade geometry down pat

there be a beautiful knife, thanks so much for beating your drum, Joe:thumbup:
Great photos!

Joe, That is one wickedly beautiful blade. The pictures the Alamo and the Bagwells are great too. Keep thumping the drum!

Thanks a lot for sharing those pictures, Joe. I don't think there could be a better backdrop for that awesome knife.

Bill is a cool guy. The few times I have met him in the past he was wide open to any and all questions. I enjoyed him a lot.

I don't like stag handles, but the blade on that thing is the most beutifull blade i have ever seen on any knife, it is utterly breathtaking! Nice photos and very nice work.

Thanks for sharing, Joe. Bill's bowie deserved a trip to the Alamo! Another fan of his blade profile here!

Joe, Thanks for sharing those pictures. I was able to talk to Mr Bagwell a couple of days ago and the pictures just seem to complete our conversation. I have a lot of admiration for his work and his life's work, which is so interesting even beyond the knives. It's evident he and his lovely wife are a team which is always good to see. The knife is beautiful. Lin

Cool thread. It's a nice knife and it's always interesting to see historic places and hear about peoples hobbies.

The Bagwells must be a pleasure to spend time with.

Thanks for a great thread Joe, I'm a fan of both Mr Bagwell and the Alamo ;)

I like the crown and would love to see how it feels. You're right aout the period look, which is right down my alley... Beautiful knife

Thanks everyone I am sure Bill would apreciate all your comments. Lin I spoke to Bill and he said he really enjoyed speaking with you.

I am trying to get this knife from Bill I will let you all know what happens . I think he really likes this one :) so we will have to see

On another note I know he just finished up the largest HB he has ever done regretfully it is not for me but another customer. I have been asking him for some pics of the knife and some pics of his hunting rifle and some critters he has bagged and when I get them I will post them up. Thanks again:thumbup:

That damascus really looks cool, reminds me of storm clouds. The handle design certainly is unique. I like crown stag and this handle has a lot of character. Also if I where in that battle at the Alamo I would want Sidra on my side. Thanks for sharing.
