Baldric rig for MC ?

Here’s the strap I was referring to before. Not much to look at, but it works pretty well for horizontal carry.

I like that!
Thanks for sharing.

I was able to mess around with the new MC today and enjoyed it very much.
It felt fine on my hip but my left arm is disabled and I usually carry something else on my hip, wether around the burbs where I live, in the woods, hunting, or traveling, I have grown used to being armed through the years.
That leaves me with the MC and the carry piece fighting for real estate on my carry belt. It’s not so much of a big deal with smaller blades but I was thinking that for such a big knife it’d be nice to have some sort of baldric rig to sling over my shoulder when I get where I’m going and take it out of the pack or to wear for quick jaunts into the woods.
It’d make drawing the knife easier with a cross draw motion while allowing my left arm to basically remain straight to grab the sheath and assist in the draw. I love the look of a nice leather sheath but I’m just not a nice leather sheath kind of guy, so, do any of you fine folks know of a maker that could rig up something like that which would attach to a tek-lok ?
This would allow me to pop it on the belt or outside of a pack easily or clip it into the baldric sling and use it that way without having to make any changes to the sheath.

Thanks for any help that you can give.
Just a thought, but if it felt fine on your hip, did you try putting the MC on the other hip for a crossdraw carry?

You mentioned your left arm being disabled, so I assume your holster is on the right. Have the MC on the left for crossdraw.

For folks who haven't seen these. If you ever go hunting somewhere there are bears (especially the brown kind), these are great. Potentially would've saved Mark Uptain's life.

I have a HPG front chest mounted bag that I carry in sometimes. Really comfortable and hides it well too. I don't mind open carry, but it sort of puts a target on you. Always carry, never tell...

I think I could see you in pastels Jonny:cool::D
Ugh... don't remind me. I may have worn a white linen blazer with sleeves rolled up and a pastel t-shirt to a couple parties back in the 80's (and of course Drakkar Noir to complete the 80's ensemble). Hey, it worked though :p

At least I could blame mom for the pics of me in bellbottoms and corduroy pants.o_O

Yeah, those are great too. Better for hiking/backpacking, to not freak out other folks.

For hunting, the big 'ol long gun makes that point moot:D

That's what I usually carry when backpacking, when we have reached base camp. I carry in the lid of my pack and so does Jeannie. So I stepping behind Jeannie, better watch out, causing I'm unzipping the lid and vice versa!

Yes, I’ve tried it and although it’s alright I think it’d be better with the baldric so that I can pull it forward a little bringing it into the range of motion that I have left with the bad arm.

Thanks for the suggestion.
