Time for an update. Some have been asking.
The molds are finished on the American BaliYo and were making parts. The parts are quite intricate and all of the little screw together parts and spring parts that make up the cartridge area are working well.
We are making some material changes as one of the parts wouldnt pass break tests.
I might add that the molds were made in America. We probably could have saved $50K on the mold by outsourcing, but we felt the American BaliYo should be USA made.
The lead-free brass parts (3) are being machined, pretty close tolerance stuff.
Wire clips and pivots are being formed. Packaging is progressing. Eric is still refining the video.
Making something that has never been made before is challenging. There is little history to learn from. We had similar issues in developing the first Clipit folder (81).
Eric said the delivery date has been pushed to July 4th for the American BaliYo. (Its Erics project). The material change will cost us a few weeks.
MSRP is $69.95 Higher than wed hoped for, but theyre made right (10 million flips), made safe, made with Fisher Space Pen refill (the best) and made by American workers for an American company.
I understand that BalliYo.com is up and running if anyone wants to contact us for more information or wants to order BaliYos.
Well be working our first show for Pens, the Stationary show in New York, next week.
We are quite excited. It has been a long road and most of it breaking trail.
Thanx much.
