"Projects" is one thing I have plenty of....time and money are another matter lol.
Thanks for the comments on the hawks/ trade axes. I'm trying to complete some from scratch, have lots to learn and give props to all the Makers out there.
Those were made/ moded just to practice with the drift, heat treat, finish.
The finish is parkerizing- next time I will embelish with stamped/ engraved designs filled with silver solder for some contrast under a blued or parked finish.

While I wait for my club to dry out I decided to get one of the cold steel ones as a hold over.for 45 beans(cdn)I couldn't pass them up.

Hey Savagesicslayer the Cold Steel Club's aint bad for the price, I like both of there War Club's The Ball Head and the Gun Stock, I've been thinking about them myself and doing some Rawhide Wrap's, Just might look Good, And I know they'll do the Job !

I don't know if this link was posted yet or not, but i guess if you don't mind the the poor crafting practice of wood grain not running with the length of the handle, it's another option.

Thank's for the link Ducatimonster, Them are some Nice War Club's for the price,

i dug two oak saplings this morning. im guessing i should strip them clean of bark before setting them up to dry?

yep that helps them dry best.
I'm gonna dry brush some paint on my CS war club and wrap the handle.Might make it at least look the part.I'm gonna leave the ball black cause it's going to get the beating and will just scuff easily.I'm going to look for some brass tacks to put on both my CS one and my hand carved one.Where do you guys/gals get your tacks?

Those brass tacks are easy to find.

You can find them on ebay and pretty much any of the native crafting sites offer them.

my saplings are splitting pretty bad. ive had them in my room drying which i thought would be cool and dry enough but i guess not. can this be mended or should i go dig another?

My Cold Steel War club arrived today. It's quite a piece of work. It's quite heavy but not unmanageable.the polypropylene is accented with wood grain (I guess to combat the flat black appearance). The head is large with a strange steel bolt screwed into the face.I guess you could grind it into a spike if you wanted to.I like the flushed look myself so I'll probably just set it aside.
I'll give you guy's a full review in a bit.I cut myself bad 2 days ago and am now sporting 5 stitches in my right hand.

I got a question for all you hawk-jocks out there.Has there ever been a war club pipe? There's a hawk pipe I was wondering if the same principal has ever been applied to war clubs.
