Ballpark security guard had no issues with my knife at the ballpark

That's not to say there aren't some actually good posts.... ^

Why didn't you make the sandwich in your car instead of carrying all that stuff into the ball park, where you would then need to take out your large knife around total strangers?

Knives, those of us who like them, and in particular, those of us who carry them, already face enough prejudice from the public. By choosing to use such a large knife in such a public place, and then telling people to "turn around, sit down and just shut the f up", I think that all you accomplished was reinforcing the negative perceptions that people have of us.

I'll use a knife in public if I need to, but I do so discreetly. Whether we like it or not, how we use our knives in public, and how we interact with people when we do, can affect the overall knife community, for the better, or for the worse. The "Karen's" of the world may already have their minds made up, but the other people in the stands might have been more open-minded, until you started giving people orders and using profanity in a family setting.

And telling people you don't know to "turn around, sit down, and just shut the f up" is a great way to get shot.

Poor judgement all around in my opinion.

Although, it does sound like a tall tale.

So he could take his large knife out around total strangers. Now if you'll all pardon me, I have to go slice an apple in the middle of a park full of children.

I drive a truck not a car, thank you. "Carrying all that stuff?" Like what? The container of mustard? The rest was consumed or it's part of my EDC (the knife) or ballpark kit.

Who in their right mind would make a sandwich in their "car" if they had an alternative with someplace flat to work?

Who said the people around me were "total strangers?" Not me, just you. Almost all around me I knew by name. The size of the knife is relative. The CS CP XL is rather small compared to various other knives (e.g. the glorious Smatchet.)

LOL! You weren't there and it's clear you have a huge weed up your backside for some reason, which you brought to this thread.

Blah, blah, blah. Do you feel better now? I was being discreet with my knife usage. Karen was not being discreet with her staring and her mouth.

Are you actually being serious? Really? Talk about making inappropriate (and nutbag) comments! What's the male version of a Karen? A Darren?
Poor judgement all around in my opinion.
You would know, Darren! 🤣

nice bayonet you have there....big sammich... nice, reasonable security guard...rude damned broad..
Thanks. Like the Luzan, it's a good/inexpensive knife.

Yeah, the security guard seems to be a good guy. Fair, reasonable, confident. I ended-up sharing about half the sando with him and others -- it really was pretty good. Light, scrumptious. A lot better than a boiled dog or a deep fried burrito.

I don't know, but I suspect Karen and her husband were the parents of a player on the rival team? Though it was only the second inning, she might have already been rattled by the creative cheering and the pregame pricing on double pours of chardonnay?

Now you're putting too much baloney in your sandwich.

I agree, I'd much rather make a sandwich while precariously balancing the whole thing on my knees instead of resting on the wide center console of most modern pickups. Makes perfect sense, like the rest of this made-up story.

Tough crowd here....

Snarking on someone for having their own "penthouse forum" moment...

Seriously, if this is a true tale, I think more discretion would have been appropriate....
