Bamboo

Cool cutting Joe! I did'nt know Silverbacks had such speed/coordination :D

I know the 'regular' bamboo I get from my neighbor is difficult enough to cut cleanly, would like to get a hold of some of this for a comparison. Won't embarress myself though trying to cut it free standing ( i know my limits)

How you liking that Browning's handle? I got two of them because the price was right and managed to do a not so good reshaping job on the first one, the second one I'm taking it a little slower and more deliberate (although the first one fits my hand really good, just would'nt want to have an MS or any pro 'critique' it) Thank's again for the Action Shots, Mac

Thanks Gorillas are pretty quick:D

Handle seems fine for me but I have not done extended chopping with it to see if it gives me any hot spots

My neighbor and I will be culling a fairly large section from his side of the fence:eek: this weekend....do you want it sent to the dojo or to your house?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

House would be great.

Can you keep them in water, until you get ready to cut them?

Sean

Just saw this thread and the cutting pics.
That's some serious cutting! One needs skills to cut free standing anything, and bamboo is really tough stuff.

If I were better with Photoshop you'd be wearing an awesome lime green polyester leisure suit in this photo, Joe. :D

Matt I have one and I would have worn it if I would have known it would of made you happy :D

REALLY cool stuff!!! :)

Joe--- you in those garage pics is proof that if a "regular guy" works his ass off to be very successful, he can have all the toys he dreamed of as a young boy. :D (I may have been previously influenced by the history of some of your posts here too ;) :D).

Thanks Nick but in life it ain't over till your dead and ya always gotta keep struggleing and pushing to stay ahead

STeven.
The Bamboo came in today, and looks great.......should do very
well for the type of projects I have in mind..

THANKS...

Russ, you are most welcome.

Packages going out tomorrow: RHankins, Dan K, SShepherd and Nick Wheeler.....and then I am out of bamboo worth a darn to cut for about 6 months at least, will make an announcement when the next batch is ready.

Best Regards,

Got the bamboo- THANK YOU STeven! :)

Man, this is some crazy, thick walled stuff. I'm now a hell of a lot more impressed with Joe's pics than I already was!

Never seen bamboo with such thick walls. We actually have a lot of it around here, but it's about half as stout as this stuff.

THANKS STeven!!! :)

Hey Steven

I got my bamboo almost 2 week ago. sorry I didn’t get back to you earlier.

I cut some right away and, and you weren’t kidding this is some stout stuff.

I cut the rest of it today with some yellow bamboo I got from Fred Myers.

Yeh I know my form sucks and it was cold, but I had fun and my swords were happy to see something new.

Thanks again for the bamboo

Glad you got it and liked cutting it Dan. You can see from the still shots how much thinner the yellow bamboo from Freddie's is compared to the stuff I sent you.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Yeh the yellow bamboo was easer to cut then what you sent me. I hade some cuts where my form was off and my blade skipped off of the green bamboo.
Thanks again
