Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down

The RWL 34 blade received a triple acid etch, and the handle construction is of the type found on old kitchen knives. I'm not sure what you would call it, a partial full tang may be?
The timber I used is Acacia and the blade is secured with 3 brass pins.

I'm not sure what is acceptable so I hid the naughty bits, but I'm happy to show them if it's ok to show some nudity.

Thanks guys,
I'm quite addicted to etching, as you can see, but I also like making plain, simple and straight to the point blades, which is also very enjoyable to make.

Here's for example a vegie chopper I just finished. At least I know it will be used and abused.

Well, there comes a time when someone needs to say it - I am offended and repelled by your post as it's both demeaning and offensive toward women.

I'm very sorry that you take it that way because my intention was certainly not to be demeaning toward any one.

The thrust of my disgust is toward the subject matter and not you personally. You could have been anyone, and my post would have been the same.

I appreciate that, but don't take what I do too seriously.

Someone got triggered! Welcome to 2016 lol

Nice knife, if Bob loveless can put naked women on his blades for decades then so can you:eek:

I absolutely understand that my etching may be offensive for some, and that's fine. We're all entitled to our own opinions, tastes and sensitivities, and I respect that as long as discussions remain civilized.
This knife is trash in its style, and that's exactly how I wanted it to be.
It would have been different if I had wanted to make a nice and politically correct knife and had come up with this.

Think of Roberto Rodriguez: he makes trashy movies, knowing that he does, unlike some other movie makers who think they make good movies and actually make pure trash.

Do I make sense.

The etching is not to my personal taste but I am definitely not offended by it, this design will appeal to plenty of folks for sure. It's reminiscent of the old pin-up girl style, or a more realistically shaped version of the cartoon woman from that Roger the Rabbit movie, and she's holding a gun so it also has that going for it, thanks for sharing your work.

Yes, vintage 'Vargas girls' springs to mind.

Jessica Rabbit as well.

To quote Jessica: "I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way. "

This. PC - *SIGH*

I only saw the knife. Really.
But I understand all of the posts.
When I realized what was going on, what Adam posted, was the first thing that came to my mind.

if I invited my wife or daughter to take a look at this forum, I don't think this knife or the statement quoted above would be something that I would want them to see or read

I think Bob's statement is a fair one to make, especially given the added graphics which cover parts of the image and the language of the OP, which clearly admits that this might not go over well. With that in mind, don't get all offended if someone else is offended

my daughter's asked me why there's a naked woman on some of the knives, (Loveless) that she's seen in some of the books I have. Not really sure how to explain it to her

as you say, though, different strokes for different folks. If someone looks at this thread and is truly offended, it's easy enough to report it

Museums are full of such images.

So California beaches are filled with the real thing.

If you chose to be offended you surely will be.

I care as little for your thoughts on the subject as you do mine, I'm sure. But your logic about museums and beaches is really rather an ignorant view of the subject of men demeaning women, IMHO. I've never cared for T & A on knives, has nothing to do with being politically correct. Has to do with respecting others, little of which I find with most of the comments here.

Have you and those of your ilk ever considered the harm you do to the image of knifemaking? You've given those who wish to cast another negative upon us another reason. By exercising ignorance.

I understand people preferring a more prudent psychological presentation. I wasn't offended by anything about the post myself but I understand other people's reservations. Nudity may work in museums or beaches or travelogues, but less well on a website that restricts it to 2 less serious subforums.

There is nothing demeaning of the nude on or off the blade.

Fact is if it was a picture of guy nobody would give zero "f's"

What is demeaning is thinking less of a women because she is nude.

Much respect for the naked!

There is more harm projecting shame on women due to nudity.

Fact is I and my ilk have the utmost respect for women no matter what state of dress they are in.

Art or not? I walk through art museums with my wife and daughter (she is 7) and see nudity on display in all forms. Maybe some would view this art as offensive as is their right. As we are all entitled to our opinions, we need not attack each other if we find ourselves on opposite sides of an issue.
