bang for your buck

A folder? Should it also be one-handed opening and locking? If so then the answer is the Ontario RAT-1 for $25.95, if not then an Opinel #8 for less than half that price.

If we forget value for money and just go with the best folding knife for under $150 then I'd go with the Spyderco Military - that would be what I would buy on that budget.

i guess 150 was generous, ive never spent that much on a knife myself, i own an endura 4 and a lawman, both under 65 bucks, i enjoy both very much

So, why are you asking about another knife? What you have sounds good, what more are you wanting in another knife? Different steel? More what? Less what? Tell the forum what you are after here, I'm pretty sure this is the place to access more experience with knives then you'll find anywhere else.

If you just want a new more expensive knife and are willing to spend up to $150 then I'll stick to the suggestion of the Spyderco Military.

If you are looking for something else then you'll need to be more specific.

You could always try to find a used ZT 0300 series. I found that knife to be worth every dollar, even if I could've saved myself $60 with a little searching.

As long as they last - and that can't be too long - the blemished Kershaw JYDII in Ti & SG2 is a bargain for $79 delivered from a fellow in the BF sales section. If you could add $39 to your limit, a fantastic knife - the ZT-300/301/302 can be had from the same fellow. I have both - what great knives - and service.

Within the limit - a long way within - you can get a new Benchmade D2 bladed 'Bone Collector', #15020-1. Super knife - AXIS lock. Dumb 'skull' symbol on the blade, though. Judicious shopping would leave enough for a Buck 110 from WallyWorld - and lunch from their food court.

Another idea - hit a gun show - look for used knives. Last Saturday found me at a local show looking for reloading supplies. I came home with a used/no box Benchmade 630 - huge Ti framelock/S30V knife. Super knife - in better shape than my bought-new Skirmish, too (That's right - I bought a 'spare'!). Including the parking fee, I'd still had lunch money left from your $150 limit. Reloading supplies - like firearms there - were more than local or mail order sources. My one buy came home in my pocket.

I carry a Sak everyday because it get the most use. One was free and the other ten bucks at a pawn shop. Best bang for my buck.

Ritter Griptilian, regular or mini can be had for this price. Now try to find one! Doug says he's working on a new partnership; no longer working with Aeromedix. Hopefully we'll see something soon.

Based on 55 or so years of some collecting but mostly using knives:

1. The SAK of your choice
2. Case (or other high quality) stockman or similar pattern
3. Spyderco Delica
4. Buck 110

Get one of each, use it responsibly, give it proper care, and you're set for life. Folder-wise, at least.

Sanrenmu 710 - $8.00
Opinel No 8 - $12.00
Svord Peasant - $16.00
Victorinox One Hand Trekker - $30.00
Case Sodbuster - $20.00

Boker Trance, Spyderco Endura 4, Cold Steel American Lawman or Recon-1. Those are the best buys for your $.

FFG Endura 4 is probably the best knife for the money that I am aware of. Ritter Grips are going to be sold by KnifeWorks now. Great knife. If you are looking to spend the max of $150 the Benchmade 710 is also a great knife.

The carbon fiber stretch 2 gets my vote.

The best bang for the buck folder I have owned is the Spyderco Tenacious for $30. You simply can't do a bang for the buck thread and not mention the tenacious!

If you are looking for the best bang for 150 bucks, well that is another story. Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Hogue EX-01, and ZT 0200 all get my nomination.

Both are good knives for the money.
Ontario rat 1 folder is about $30 with shipping.
Buck vantage is about $20 at walmart.

Dont hate the Moraholic, but I still cant find a more bang/buck efficient blade than
this much bang:

for $6.50 buck.
It comes sharp as hell and you can make it even sharper, takes beating and abuse well, and if it breaks, you can fit a new handle on it in notime, or just buy a new one, for that price. Or you can buy 10 :D

I have been impressed lately by the buck vantage with paper stone handles I got from walmart for under $30 bucks, Made in the USA, fit is great, has a good low ride pocket clip, and good lock up. The blade isn't polished very well, but as a user, its great.

This. They make great stocking stuffers :D
