I also have an Aurora in 3v that I have not used so no pics yet.

Like to hear feedback and see pics. Thanks.

meh. They can make a well-designed and well-built knife, but don't too often for my liking.

When they don't, they will usually attempt to fix it (unless it is "user error"). Some feel that is great customer service...I feel great customer service is getting thing right the first time.

Also the "personalities" of their management, as well as of some of their more ardent followers, have turned me off over the years.

They just come with way too much baggage for me.

my bark rivers are great 3v can clean 2 deer and not even need a touch up
m4 is even better but little small for the whole task

I have read about them for a long time and I haven't noticed any bad blood nor any reason for any. The only thing I can say negative is that some of their products seem a bit expensive for a production knife.

Most of their knives are a certain style and not everybody likes every style.

You can find haters for most every brand so skip all of that! I got 3 all have great fit and finish and great leather sheaths. My buddy sent his in for a broken blade his fault and no issues at all got a new knife that simple. I think their a great knife for a good price.

And you can find blind fanboys for every brand too, do skip all of that.

This is the "ardent fan" thing I mentioned before. Very quick to throw "hater" out. Odd group, those fundamentalist Barkites.

Great stuff. Thanks all. Open to more post n pics.
Good link L2D - thanks. Explains why not more replies here.
Seems many fans. Some not. Value is subjective and QC can vary it seems.
Only think I can say not having owned or handled is they have some models that look intriguing. Maybe I can handle some in the future.
Other than that, the guy Mike from BR and his video on a vendor site - well he could use some dental work. Not sure if he is the owner - if so I would wonder what is acceptable QC for his products. Sorry if that sound bad.

Again thanks all. Learning from others :)

The only way that you ever be able to determine the answer you seek, is to just get one and see for yourself. I also pondered these same questions that you are currently pondering and finally decided to get one. I now have several. To me, they are great knives. There are many different types for different needs. Some are just for collecting and looking at. Others are for beating the crap out of. There is a Bark River knife for all of those needs. As others have mentioned, in every hobby there are those who like particular manufacturers (Ford / Chevy / Harley / Honda / Bark River / ZT / etc...), and then there the ones who dislike what the others like. Whatever... i like what I like.

Buy one, I am pretty sure that you will like it. If not, then sell it. Then you will know for yourself.

I just bought two Teddy II knives. One with a single guard and leather handle and one with a double guard and micarta handle. Both are real nice heavy duty knives that would be great for all around camp use. I also recently bought a survivor and it too is a nice heavy full tang camp/survival knife. There have been some complaints about Bark River knives having a weak edge and I would not say that with these knives there is plenty of material left for a good strong edge. There is a good youtube video of the Teddy II being used hard.

Hey Shaving Sharp. Great choices on those Barkies. I have a couple Survivors and a Teddy II as well. They are great knives. I really like that Survivor, very hefty knife! Got any pics of the Teddy II knives?
