Hmmm. I've thought more than once: "Gee, I'd sure like a Barkie similar to an Aurora but smaller."

I'm going to have to put on my tin foil hat until Mike Stewart redirects his mind control rays.

They look great.
I can't wait to get mine.

Pitdog- H&C is the hiking and camping forum on the "other" forums.

Other forum

Great looking knife ... I was wondering if there was a story behind it.

Big Mike,

Do you know if all of those are spoken for?

I'm in the same "Gee, I'd sure like a Barkie similar to an Aurora but smaller." category as Folist.

Thanks,

Brandon

The Build has just started.

They are ordered through the “Other Forum”…

…but Mike Stewart will do Custom Handle Material on request.

If you want one order it now!

Looks good indeed! I was agonizing over this knife when the offering first came out, ended up deciding I couldn't afford it at the time. It looks like a great hiking belt knife, a slimmer and lighter alternative to my Bravo-1  If Mike decides to bring these into production, I'm going to have to pick one up later :)

If you really want one, get it now. This is a limited run of 50. The design is an exclusive and it will not be repeated. These are likely to be rare on the secondary market.

Right, I wasn't clear in my post; I meant if he decides to do a full production run after these limited 50. So it will not be repeated, huh? I guess I'll have to catch it on the secondary market if I can, can't afford another knife right now:grumpy:.

Why is it that it's being 'advertised here' if it can not be obtained here? I inquired to Kevin about this but did not hear back from a few months ago. I find quite a bit of conflict of interest in this in that it's always drawing BF members to 'the other Forum'. So one has to join the other Forum just to have an opportunity to buy a knife from BRKT? Why can't it be offered here as a 'WSS version'?

No joining of any communist party is required.

Kev and the guys over there designed it and Mike volunteered to build it.

If that’s a problem for you, cover your eyes and look away.

I only post it here as a heads-up for those interested.

PS – this knife has not been “advertised” here in any way I know of…

…I fact it is not “advertised” anywhere I have seen,

and is only available to those in the know.

How is it being advertised here? Big Mike doesn't work for BRKT! He is not affiliated with them at all. He likes their knives and knows there are people on this forum that may like the style of this particular knife so he is posting about it. Bark River has its own forum over on the other forum, so they are doing it over there, whats the big deal.....

I really like the shape and size of that one. But you know me, some thicker/rounder slabs and I'd be in hog heaven.

Not quite Tony, BRKT IS the 'other Forum'. I'm mentioning it because this is not the first mention of this knife here on the WSS. Why not make a version for folks here? What are we lepers here at BF? As you mentioned lots of people here buy BRKT products so why not make it available here...instead of to just 'people in the know'...

I own 7 BRKT models so my issue is as stated. And if you recall, last year I handled both versions of this knife at the BF WSS meet in CT so why not offer it to members here?

Because the designers of that knife are from that forum........Remember Kev was a mod at the other forum before he was a mod here. Besides, what is the big deal, you are in the know. Thanks to Mike....

The CT gathering was not an exclusive WSS event, there were 3 or 4 forums represented there.
