Has anyone heard any recent news from or about BRKT?

Their web site has been screwed up for what seems like a couple weeks (muliple broken internal links, missing photos, etc.). It always makes me nervious when a company I like lets their offical website deteriorate like this. Makes me wonder if there are more problems. <fingers crossed>

I just went to their site with no problems, try just typing their name into the add. bar.

They don't do a lot with their website. It has outdated and general information. The individual dealers (listed on their site) have updated information and inventory on their websites.

From what I have heard Mike Stewart owner of (BRK&T) is doing well. Last week he said he is making over 25,000 knives a year and it basically makes him superior and gives him a leg-up on other knife guys like us. It very well might, but I thought of that as unprofessional and rude. Turned me off to his knives real fast. I think his main distributor is www.knivesshipfree.com they have over 1,100 of his knives in stock. Anyway I don't think you have to worry about getting your knife and I hope you really enjoy it. I have heard great things about his knives and I almost bought a few Goloks for Christmas presents, starting early for once, but not anymore. Which model did you get?

Just went back, looked at alot, maybe the server in you area having probs?
If so, its been having the problem for a couple weeks cause that's how long I've been having problems with their site.

Its not a matter of outdated, when I access the site half of it isn't there, just broken links. I've been there in the past looking around and many of the pages and photos that I viewed before are not accessable anymore.

Can anyone else check this link and tell me what you see:

http://www.barkriverknifetool.com/classichunter/index.php

That is one of their product page links on the main page. When I go to that URL I get a message saying "Page not found".

It makes no sense for Bark River to fiddle constantly with the website when they produce such a tremendous variety of models and handle materials. The dealers will present these up-to-date so customers will know what is actually available, rather than what basic classes of knife the company thinks in terms of.

Don't worry, be happy! :D www.knivesshipfree.com is good, www.dlttradingcompany.com is good, as are www.agrussell.com and www.knifeworks.com, and here's their dealer page: http://www.barkriverknifetool.com/dealers.php

Do yourself a favor and stay away from people like Mike Stewart. :barf:

Same here. Like Esav said, they probably don't keep up with it much. My guess is that they updated and either missed a few files or switched some page names and forgot to update the index.

My guess, they updated the website but forgot to remove the old links from the main page.

See the list that includes the links, "Deluxe Game," "Professional," "Canadian Guide,"... All of the bad links and missing photos are accessed from that link listing.

Now look at the upper right to the links "About Us," Cutlery Products," and "Dealers." All of those links and associated files are intact and appear to be more current.

There is always 1 bad apple in every crowd. :jerkit::jerkit:

I think it was asaid correctly about the stocking dealers keeping up with the times. Mike does not solely do his business on the actual Bark River website. He has even admitted to me that it is in SORE need of updating. Bark River sales are at record highs and the company is expanding monthly. Life is good for team Bark River. Buy with confidence.

Bark River and Sanremu arent exactly apples and oranges...both have their dark sides hashed out in public...I hope we dont defend one with blind righteousness while chastising the other.

Bark River makes an exceptionally good blade. Just like any company, research who you are supporting. I owned 25 Bark Rivers, now I only trade or buy 2nd market knives, and I own 3 Barkies currently. This is not a reflection on the quality of the product.

Say what???

I have just recently purchased my first BRKT knife. there was a small problem with it and I contacted Mike at BRKT. He has gone way way WAY above and beyond any expectations I would have of any company in standing behind his product and making things more than just right.

The superb quality of the product, and Mike (and crew) committment to customer service have gained them a loyal customer.

There is a vocal minority here on the forum who take every opportunity to bash BRKT based on alleged buisness and/or personal issues with Mike. These issues have to nothing to do with the quality of Barkie knives the company's customer service.

Personally, I chose to ignore these issues that I only know of second or third hand, and focus on what I know first hand... that BRKT makes an excellent product that they fully support. End of story. ;)

BRKT must not be all that. I mean, Mr. Stewart doesn't claim super operator status or magical properties for his secret unobtainium steel or make videos in tights slicing bricks. How can the knives be anything special??? I'm receiving my first today and I'll let y'all know.

It is a pleasure to see people that are still capable of making up their own mind instead of listening to hear say from others and immediately judging. I run across people like that all the time in my personal life and it simply helps me make up my mind that much faster about them. Good on you.
