Bark River- who’s fault?

Again… that’s fine by me, my problem is with the belittling of people who claim to have experienced otherwise.

Wow. Just too thick to get it, aren't you?

You can have your opinions. But to ignorantly disregard the FACTS, and then come across like a 10-year old with your "he's done nothing to me" crap, is sad. It does nothing to help our hobby, and you come across looking like a douchebag when you defend another douchebag.

I don’t care about Shane’s experience with mike and I’m not dismissing any criticism, Shane’s proven to be a pos just like he claims mike is, the fact that you keep categorizing people’s experience as defending the owner is intellectually dishonest, i said very specifically that I don’t know him and for all I know he could be just as big of a pos as Shane is, the only thing I’m arguing is people shutting off arguments because they said something they don’t like. You’re are more than welcome to share your experience, in fact it’s probably one of the main reasons this forum exists, what you’re not welcome to do is insult or belittle other members because they don’t take what you supposedly experienced as the Bible. There are several claims on this thread that the author has absolutely no way of knowing but it’s alright as long as his outraged enough. People need to grow up and talk like adults.

Our current day "social justice" is actually a pretty great comparison, as this is very much comparable to the petulant children we see harassing folks in the streets because they can't get their way.

That "education" and "higher bar" bullshit is nonsense. If it were about "education", it would just be a matter of popping into a thread and telling someone, "Look, this guy has scammed people many times before. He has made false claims, and some of his knives have been found to be made of purposely misrepresented and inferior steels. You need to be aware of this before you buy. Good luck with whatever you decide." Then, after having made your point, you'd kindly bow-out of the thread and let folks go about their business. You'd also WELCOME differing points of view. However, as has been shown in MANY THREADS, that is not the case.

On the contrary, this particular nonsense is about beating a dead horse, and harassing owners/users of a product you don't like because they refuse to march in step. If you'll notice, the passive-aggressive insults always start with the detractors, once anyone offers an opposing view. After that, the mob shows-up and continues (*and increases) the pressure. It's quite obvious that it has worked, as folks will react to a post or posts, but are obviously intimidated to the point of not commenting. As I stated before, it's blatantly apparent that it's endemic, as the harassment is allowed to continue...on and on, and through countless threads...presumably because it's done under the umbrella of "We're trying to help you." I think Thomas Paine said, "The greatest tyrannies are always perpetrated in the name of the noblest of causes."

As far as the "higher bar" nonsense, NONE OF US are the hall monitor here. If you don't like something or someone...and as has been suggested to you, AD NAUSEUM...vote with your wallet. Disparaging Mike Stewart while you're acting like a petulant child doesn't really help in making your point.

You are nobody's "bud" on this forum, noob.

You come here with your ignorant comments, lack of facts, and apparent lack of intelligence to read and understand what dozens of people are saying about Mike Stewart and BRK. And you defend it all by saying "he's done nothing to me".

It's not just this forum, "bud". There are legitimate claims and lawsuits that go WELL beyond this forum.

But again, please carry on your childish ignorance. Bud.
Do you see the problem here? “Dozens of people” out of tens of thousands of knives sold does not give you any authority to demand people to take your word over their experience or otherwise they should shut up because it’s not what you believe to be true. You can state facts and opinions all you want, what I don’t understand is why you’re so fragile about people sharing theirs to the degree of belittling them, calling them fanboys, calling them ignorant and telling them to shut their mouths. But please continue the “he’s done nothing to me” is the equivalent of your “he did something to me” and it doesn’t matter how much you want it or how many times you say it I’m still not your “bud”

How the heck is this crazy garbage thread still going for 16 pages?!?! 🤣 OP, the blade might have just been thround to a thin edge. Or maybe the wood you were pounding on was really hard stuff that you maybe shouldnt pound on since it messed up 2 knives! (These 2 things together are probably the simplest and therefore most likely explanations) Maybe the knives were made of playdoh because Mike Stewart is a lying Satan worshipper who can somehow make money by selling thousands of playdoh knives, but honestly who cares at this point. No one needs to be a jerk to anyone else. This is dumb. Some people like BRKT and others really, REALLY hate them. And that is ok. :)
I keep expecting this dumpster fire thread to get put out, but it just keeps burning! Thanks for the entertainment everyone.

It ain’t just Shane, it’s a bunch of folks. This is old news. So old that new folks don’t know the history. But believe me, the history is there and easily found. I think the general consensus of the knife community here agree that BRK have some shady practices when it comes to their business. Not everybody has this experience, but many folks have.

Same here. My little 3V Bravo 1 has been a great little "camp" knife.

At first, I questioned my decision to buy "Maple Burl" scales. However, they've held-up quite well to my usage, and have really exceeded my expectations...

This looks like a brand new knife to me. What "hard use" has it seen to look so unused?

Most knives can hold up to having their picture taken.

Defend a douchebag = you are a douchebag.

I have the law on my side of this argument and the legal settlement that went with it. What do you have, bud? Oh right, your (flawed) opinions.

That knife has sat by the campfire, many nights, and split wood for a small grill. It's been in the rotation with an ESEE-5, a BK-2, and a Barky Squad Leader.

If you knew even a tenth of my posts, you'd know how ridiculous your "witty" post sounds.

I agree, but in my opinion that doesn’t give anyone the right to silence someone just because they belong to the ones who didn’t experienced it.

For what it is worth I have had good luck with Bark River knives in my own experience. Therefore everyone must take my word for it and buy one or else I will call them mean names.

That’s exactly what I’m referring to, probably a fringe minority that cries really loud. You either agree with them or they try to attack you and discredit you.

I’m still scratching my head here trying to figure out how informing knife hobbyists about the shitty practices of a certain scumbag knife maker equates to being a social justice warrior. Somebody here is desperately misinformed … about a great many things.

Oh, believe me, I get it.

I've been around enough of these threads, even long before I joined, to see the writing on the wall.
