Bark River- who’s fault?

Just giving my 2 cents, knife social justice warriors feel free to cry me a river.
that childish “cancel culture” behavior it’s ridiculous on a forum made to share a hobby.
Boycotts are effective in showing displeasure with a company. Using terms like “Cancel Culture” and “Social Justice” is more of an indictment of you rather than people who disapprove of BRK.

I like my Clax, and the Clax my brother and father got were great too.
Given the issues surrounding other knives though, I would be hesitant to buy any of their other offerings.

I would pick up another Clax though, if I found one. :)

Some of you just don't understand that it's not just the knives that are the issue. The bigger issue is the man who owns the company.

Part of the same issue, really.
Misrepresented steel and all that.

I would not trust making a deal with the guy himself given what has been reported. Certainly wouldn't be giving him money up front.
I got ripped off by a guy who went by the name of "The Sun" (then Karg Knives). Sent a knife for modification, and he just stole my knife.
Being in another country, was too far away for me to rectify the situation on my own. That knife, which cost me $500, was never seen by me ever again.
Him being a scumbag wouldn't stop me from buying one of the modified knives he produced from another individual who actually had one in hand.
I sure wouldn't recommend him to anyone though, or give money directly to him.

You’re right, this is a forum to share a hobby. The forum/community that has been taken advantage of by the very man you’re defending. We should just turn a blind eye until the next person gets scammed? Because “Sucar” hit a rock and his knife didnt disintegrate? This has nothing to do with “childish cancel culture”. It is about educating people on a con man who has stolen tens of thousands from community members/friends on numerous occasions as well as engaging in numerous other illegal anti consumer business practices. I’ll continue to expose con men because a community that allows snakes to thrive is not a community I want to be a part of.
You’re literally just proving my point, I’m not defending anyone, I said I don’t know him and can’t speak to his character, I said it twice. You’re far from educating anyone. If he stole from you, you should provide evidence. If he stole or cheated on someone else it just because a he said she said and does not hold any validity, at least to me. No one’s asked about the owner’s character, morality or virtue, the question was about product, quality and warranty and somehow you believe you have a self given authority to call people who disagree with you biased or fanboys because they trust their own experience over your rant. You’re the definition of a social justice warrior.

Do you think so? I’m pretty confident it’s describing your behavior. And as far as I know bark river is doing pretty well.

Well, if you took the.time to actually read this thread, you'd find the evidence you're asking shane45-1911 shane45-1911 for. Let's just say his specific case is documented very well. Or you could keep defending the company and the owner while dismissing all other criticism which is exactly what you're doing.

Did he steal from you? He did from me. That gives me the right to whine as much as I like in this thread.

I'm so tired of the "he did nothing to me" bullshit. We are here to educate you about the history of the man and his knives, and ultimately try to raise the bar of this hobby.

Turn a blind eye if you want and continue supporting a PROVEN criminal, con-man, thief and liar, but shut your mouth. You are lowering the bar with your ignorance.
You’re here demanding people take what you claim as your personal experience over theirs or otherwise they’re fanboys. Instead of commenting on your experience you want people to live by it and then shutting people up and calling them ignorant because they’ve experienced otherwise, try to stop reacting like a little girl and use your… what looks to be below average intelligence to engage in a conversation with someone who disagrees with you. I’m just as inclined to believe you stole from him as I am to believe he stole from you, I don’t know neither of you and I have no reason to trust anyone.

I don’t care about Shane’s experience with mike and I’m not dismissing any criticism, Shane’s proven to be a pos just like he claims mike is, the fact that you keep categorizing people’s experience as defending the owner is intellectually dishonest, i said very specifically that I don’t know him and for all I know he could be just as big of a pos as Shane is, the only thing I’m arguing is people shutting off arguments because they said something they don’t like. You’re are more than welcome to share your experience, in fact it’s probably one of the main reasons this forum exists, what you’re not welcome to do is insult or belittle other members because they don’t take what you supposedly experienced as the Bible. There are several claims on this thread that the author has absolutely no way of knowing but it’s alright as long as his outraged enough. People need to grow up and talk like adults.

Im… at a loss for words here. You should really go back, read and reflect on what you’ve posted before you comment on another users intelligence.
Did you missed the part where the user told me to shut my mouth because I made a comment (not even addressed to him) Just for saying I’ve had a different experience? Maybe you missed when he called me ignorant too even though seems hard to miss since it was approximately 50% of his reply.

It’s not really an opinion- you use terms too broadly, too casually, or too ignorantly. BRK’s financials don’t worry me. I’m exercising my personal choice to not buy their products. Since this is the appropriate forum to discuss my personal displeasure with them, I’ve taken that liberty.

Your social justice / cancel culture nonsense won’t fly here, bud.

I have no problem with that, my issue is when you try to shut other people up.

And I’m far from being your “bud”

You are nobody's "bud" on this forum, noob.

You come here with your ignorant comments, lack of facts, and apparent lack of intelligence to read and understand what dozens of people are saying about Mike Stewart and BRK. And you defend it all by saying "he's done nothing to me".

It's not just this forum, "bud". There are legitimate claims and lawsuits that go WELL beyond this forum.

But again, please carry on with your childish ignorance. Bud.

In case you haven’t noticed, everyone here is telling you that Bark River sucks because they mislabel their steels, and when a customer calls them about it, the owner basically tells them to kick rocks. Crinkled edges? Just send it back to them and they’ll just grind away an 1/8” of the blade height to get past the crinkles. This is just poor customer service, no matter what company it is. That’s what everyone here is trying to tell you. So a future customer is aware before they make that purchase.

Shane’s proven to be a pos just like he claims mike is,

Source, please? If it's "proven", it should be very easy to direct me to that source.

You make a statement like that about me, you better have some backup. Otherwise, I will ask you to SHUT YOUR MOUTH once again.

Again… that’s fine by me, my problem is with the belittling of people who claim to have experienced otherwise.
