This is a 4.5" recurve blade with swedge made from 5/32" thick CPM154 stock. Thumb grooves on the spine for extra traction. It has a satin finish. The belly is really nice on this one. The handle is 4.25" long with natural canvas micarta scales. This micarta has a lot on variations in the intensity of the natural color. The scales are secured with flared stainless steel tubing that has been ground so the edges of the tubing blend in with the scales. Comes with the custom leather sheath pictured. Price is $185 shipped CONUS. Paypal and US Postal money orders accepted.
Thanks for looking.

Another looker John. If I didn't have one on the way from you I'd be all over it. I like the natural micarta and stainless tubing.

Wow, you guys are making it hard for me to decide between white linen micarta and natural canvas micarta!!!!

Great Job!!

Nice. Your recurves are REALLY good!

(Come to the shop!! We must collaborate.)

Dude ! That is sweet... Absolutly love that blade shape. Your lines look awesome as well.

Great job and lucky joe who buys it. :)

Really beautiful work,John-I love the overall look, the natural micarta and the deep belly recurve make for a sweet package:thumbup::thumbup:

I just cannot believe this knife is still here. John your grinds are as good as any I have ever seen. Put a $350.00 price on em I bet they will sale then !! Better yet you need to go to a show man , your turning out some fine work

Since it's sold now I won't feel bad about hijacking the thread...I'll start a separate one if I don't get too many responses here.

I'm trying to wrap my mind around how you make the 'belly' of the blade dip down without making the topline of the main bevel dip down also. (Not sure this is clear). It's obviously hollowground and you can't buy a "magic wheel" that slowly increases in diameter. Only thing I can come up with is you hollowgrind with a wheel/platen to make the topline of the bevel the way you want...then go back and flatgrind, per say, from the thinnest part of the blade straight down to the edge.

(That will either make complete sense or be utterly confusing...and I may have used some vocabulary wrong, please correct if I used wrong.)

John,
I have to say, that is one beautiful knife! I was on this thread about 7 different times last night, hemming and hawing. The only reason I didn't buy it was Christmas around the corner. In a way, I'm glad you sold it, because I probably would have pulled the trigger on it, if it was still available. And the wife would not have liked that at all, let me tell you...
