Thanks Paul! I hope that wasn't you a was bidding against the other day. I didn't go after a Primble I saw with red covers, and if you got that one, it looks like a dandy. Looking forward to seeing pics.

Wow, very nice IXL, looks familiar:cool:;)

I didn't bid on the tip top (although tempted, I just put on my watch list) but the seller had several BEAUTIFUL vintage Barlows. I had to remain focused on the Primble. Here it is...very pleased with this one:thumbup:

Beautiful Primble Barlow Paul! The translucent like quality of the bone handles is just gorgeous and the knife is so well preserved. Real winner there Paul:thumbup::thumbup: Lloyd

Thank you Lloyd! I'm very pleased as its a very solid, tight knife. No liner gaps, no blade play, full blades, nice pull will deep nicks. Just took an unbelievable sharp edge:thumbup: I just love vintage seasoned bone, that's why I marvel at your terrific DE peach seed bone knives...like staring into a campfire...mesmerizing:cool:

Wow--the finish on the IXL blade, and those redbone Primble handles--top notch stuff!!

VERY nice, Paul. That Primble is a beauty, and I'm very glad it was you who got it.

The IXL didn't disappoint me in the looks department, but man, it's a nail breaker.

BTM,

Very nice looking IXL Barlow! I have one (see attached photo) that is the definition of "nail breaker". It makes my fingernail hurt just thinking about it:sour::sour: Nothing I have done has made it any easier to deploy the blade. I am just glad it is the only Barlow I have with this kind of challenge! Lloyd

Those saw cut barlows are exceptional, Lloyd!

I just received these 3 little guys in the mail, courtesy of the Exchange. Maybe one day I'll work up the courage to rehandle them!

I'm not a stainless guy but I couldn't pass on this Queen made Robeson Barlow. I don't dislike stainless it's just my liking of carbon more.

The bolsters and the bone are what clinched it for me. The dye on this bone resembles the 2014 Anniversary TC Soup Bone. The f&f is very nice on this knife, over all very pleased with my purchase.

This trusty knife has been in my pocket every day for the past year and a half. Apart from the few days I thought it was gone forever I suppose.

Modified with an easy open notch and I tuned the springs to my liking. My true EDC.

Thanks Jeff:thumbup:

Very nice spear Ironbut. I assume the whole release is stainless? I'm also curious as to why some have stamped bolsters and others plain? Released in different years maybe?

I don't know, Paul. I haven't seen that many, but I like your stamped bolsters better.

I can't say for certain they are all stainless but I've never seen a Robeson branded Queen knife in 1095. They were made for one of the big distributors over the course of many years. The tool steel marked knives are usually D2 and shuredge is 420.

What a beauty!

Thank you for confirming that these exist in stainless, too. I've poked around and thought they'd made at least some in stainless, but I've never been 100% certain. (I've also never seen a single-blade clip point with the RCC stamp for sale, so it's been largely a moot point -- but still!)
