The Boy Scout knife is a Sarge brand in 440C or so it's claimed. I don't know much else about it other than the scales are wood, and fit & finish are pretty good. It was a gift from another BF member AlwaysTomboy :)

Funny you just got a lot of 5, as I have done the same thing. I have 5 project Barlows coming in the next 2 weeks, whenever the dude gets around to sending them. One will need new scales so I may do a modern material if I can't find a suitable wood type.

Another Barlow showed up today. $5.02 shipped and 30 minutes of effort later:

These are the 2 I have so far, but I got offered 5 more for a reasonable price in need of TLC so I will have more in a week or so, old USA made budget blades I think. I've really grown to love the Barlow pattern more than I expected.

Hey, you have a Camillus barlow without 'Barlow' on the bolster, too. Cool. :)

Thanks for showing the little group . I say little only because I believe that you have some more that are all nice ones.

The Camillus 51 is everything a standard user Barlow should be and then some! I do have a soft spot for the fancy ones like MJ71 shared though, but the 51 has the same blade shape and excellent materials.

The lot I just got is one of each of the Providence 4. Colonial, Imperial, Providence Cut Co, and The Ideal. The first 2 are beautiful clip point blades, the Cut Co is a spear point with an awkward pen blade that leans forward a bit when open, and The Ideal one is a whole different animal. The scales came off and will need reworked to have any chance of redemption :) I'm considering turning that Cut Co into a sheepsfoot single blade and rehandling it as the original is a weird reddish brown that just doesn't dazzle me. Also the bolsters are clamp on so I may mod them and change to a modern style pivot to help hold them on solid. I doubt a 100% epoxy job would suffice for new scales. Any suggestions?

This old Kwik Kut fell into my pocket today. In nice shape for a knife that's around 80 years old.

I gotta throw this one in, because of the story...

Last week, I saw this on the auction site for a few bucks. I thought it was different, due to the photos. The lighting on them made the bolster look flat with de-bossed Barlow. Heck, the whole knife looked like a flat version. Then again, the blades looked quite rough in the photos too. I made the bid and won.

This morning, it showed up...looking nothing like the photo. What I thought was corrosion on the blade was a chip in the edge. What I thought was flat was actually curved. What I thought was an entirely different knife was caused by poor lighting playing tricks. It ended up being a double bolstered Imperial that someone had removed the colored plastic from. I haven't seen many double bolstered, but I have a feeling there were plenty made.

Nonetheless, I sharpened the chip out of the edge, bringing it back to shaving sharp, and deemed worthy of carrying. My wife offered to paint where the plastic used to be, since I'm going to carry it. If someone can give me a reason not to, I'll tell her no. Otherwise, it's going to get some white paint put on it and use it often.

This is what the ad showed...

This is what it actually was...

Even my camera and lighting is bad. LOL
