Oh my, that's a fine Barlow! I love the way the bone looks like it's cola-colored. :D:thumbsup:

I'm a bit embarrassed to show my modest Barlow after that, but what the heck, it is a Barlow, and it's mine, so I'm gonna show it. :p It was so rusty, I couldn't read the tang stamp, but I could tell the bolsters were pinned rather than clipped, so it was worth $3. I took it home and cleaned it up. I was a little disappointed that it's just stamped "JAPAN", but the thin blades take a sharp edge, and it really is the definition of a cheap worker of a pocketknife.

r8shell r8shell nothing embarrassing about that barlow, blades are pretty full and it gets nice and sharp so for 3 bucks you did well and it will serve you well. I'm not the coldest beer in the fridge so I never associated the color of the bone with the soda but you may be on to something ! Here's a better shot of the bone.

I love that Barlow Rob, I know Bob gifted one identical to that one to Duncan. Duncan's knives arrive here, gather several then get group shipped to NZ...that one just about didn't get shipped:eek::D

Haha! Paul I know your postmaster role for Duncan is difficult but you do get to give them the coon finger while they build up for the next shipment and that combined with the friendship and mutual appreciation for the knives makes it an honor. I wasn't on the porch soon enough to get to know Bob but it's apparent he is quite a stand up guy!

Thanks Paul, I learn something everyday on BF. I didn't realize my coca cola stamp was post factory. Yes I recall the promise to post the case barlow and i must say it was well worth the wait!!! Gorgeous !! Thanks :eek:

Rob, I don't know if your barlow is a after factory stamp but mine certainly is. The one Bob gifted to Duncan (like yours) looked original to me.

Here's a "after factory stamp" barlow similar to yours Rob:thumbsup:

Also Rob, I mentioned I'd post this CASE 1965-1969 redbone Barlow, sometimes it just takes time with me:(

Those are some outstanding Barlows my friend . I never knew that version of the Case barlows existed until 2 months ago , but now I really like that position of the Nick on the main blade . Great photos too .

Since we're on the subject of Barlows...Here are my only good flea market finds of the Summer. A Kutmaster I paid $5 for, and a Schrade that I got for $3 because the back cover is chipped. Both appear to have had some run-ins with a bench grinder, but aren't nearly as badly chopped up as most old knives I've run across around here.

Nice red bones Harry, Paul. Couple XX era red bones with the different nail nicks, both have pen in front.

Those two old Cases are beautiful Augie !!!!! The Nail Nick location is one of those things that I did not pay much attention to until I was sitting around and CF'n & CE'n my two that are similar to yours . Are both of those of the same vintage or are they different ??? I can not see the tang stamps well enough to tell .
Both pictures are also great . I hope you and your family are keeping well my friend .

Thank you Harry, hope you all are doing well also. Yes, both knives are from the Case XX era,no USA under the Case XX, if I remember right 1945 to 1960.
