Can you tell me some more about these Queen barlows? Age, blade steel, length, etcetera?

1955-1975 and 3.5", except for the Bicentennial Barlow, which is 5" and produced in 1975. I haven't researched the steel for each of them, but it was most likely a form of Queen's proprietary nickel chromium stainless steel (developed with Cyclops Steel Co., Titusville, PA in 1917).

Thanks! How is the walk and talk on them? I love your collection!

D Duckdog I keep searching and searching at swap meets and yard sales. Hard to come by Queen barlows in California I think. All I usually find are old Buck knives, old Case knives, and the normal swap meet knives that are a dime a dozen. But I keep going, thinking I wil run into something good!

Taylor, keep looking. Old Bucks and Cases (and others) can be treasures, and you may find some fine condition knives. I was just lucky to have a loving stepfather leave me a nice collection of knives he had worked hard to assemble. Don't under-rate luck, but looking is the journey that pays personal rewards.

That's the fun part! Plus getting my 8 year old son in the hunt is great as well! Kinda of a family past time...my great grandfather owned a pawn shop from the 50's to the early 80's wish I could've seen the "junk" walking in that door!

IMG_2265.JPG IMG_2266.JPG I don't recall ever posting this one here, in this thread. My apologies, if I did. This, in my opinion, was one of Queen's hidden gems in their final years. Note the DFC tang stamp. A basic Barlow, that was part of the workhorse series. -Lance

I've owned quite few others, but with this current bunch, I'm quite content. Thanks to @joeradza for the RR Yella, thanks to @r redden for the Forum Knife, and thanks to @glennbad for modding the Craftsman, sheepfoot ebony, and horn clip, I don't have much desire to own much else. I do need to slip that Boker into my pocket, though. I just love that bolster stamp.

Someone once posted a photo that I’ve long admired of some beautiful old barlows displayed in a striking manner. That photo helped inspire me to collect a few old barlows of my own and I’ve made an effort to recreate that photo using some of them in order to keep this thread going. Thanks to the original poster for the inspiration.

The weatherman says that we might see the sun here sometime next month. Maybe I'll round up my Barlows & get a picture then.

I went for a walk on mainstreet today, and went into my favorite antique shop. I found one today!!!! The secondary was snappy and almost new! Looked like original edge...but....the main clip point's spring was broken. The guy was asking ten bucks for it...do u think it's worth it? You can send me a PM....I should have taken some pictures of it. I felt rushed because the gentleman was watching me like a hawk go through his knives...

Depending on brand, with a broken spring I would have tried talking him down to $3 to $5, since it will need repaired ... presuming you can find a donor knife cheap ... maybe an old Imperial "Prov. RI" or "Ireland" with the "clam shell" construction, (carbon steel springs) or a Rough Rider (stainless steel springs).
