Barlows Anyone?

Mike - Let me know if you need any help. I can elaborate on any of the steps. You can email me through the forum too if you like.

Eric and Rusty - Your photography is excellent.

Charlie - I can't believe you keep dragging ugly old knives. When are you going to get out the good ones? :D Also, how long are the barlows in your top picture?

3 3/8", 3 3/8", 3 3/8" well, you get the idea!!
Hey, are you calling my knives UGLY????:grumpy:
Oh, wait; I did that:o!:p:D!!

Hawk, your question about size made me realize I have never posted most of these knives. My collection of Schrade Daddies;
5 1/8", 5 1/8", 5 1/8" etc. etc!

Absolutely stunning Charlie!! That white bone might be a leftover from the Stuyvesant barlows, it's the only one I know of that they did in that particular bone. That fifth one over, the peachseed, is what I call mint!

Eric

PS- Believe it or not I just fell down the entire length of my cellar steps!!! I had thrown my work hats in the washing machine and realized I still had one hanging on the knob upstairs. When I went up to grab it, I guess I reeled around too fast in my slippery socks and proceeded to fall and then slide down the whole way. The only thing sore-numb right now is my finger tips from trying to stop myself on every step (futile). I can't wait to see how I feel in the morning!

Eric

Yikes! I am glad you can still type!!
You will have to change your forum name to BlackAndBlue tomorrow!!
I hope you're O.K.!!!!!!!!!!

So is the 6th one, Eric. Mediocre scans, and old scanner.

Actually Charlie, I've seen very few of yours that aren't mint:D
Yea, the aches are starting already, unfinished well worn pine steps and insulated socks don't mix! I'm heading down to a knife show in Allentown, PA tomorrow (hooking up with Fran), anyone need anything?

Eric

I will be in Allentown on the 18th I work for Hydac and we are having a meeting sure hate I am missing a knife show

Small world mashduck, I used to work for Rexroth Hydraulics, the use Hydac filters by the truck load.

Actually, (got a pencil?) I need 10-12 minty old pocketknives!
Better put some no-skids on those stairs. You aren't getting any younger;)!

Hey Charlie,
You have a Ulster 12OT on your barlow list?
I dont have one either..;)

Larry

Well I didn't make it to the show after all, I had some family obligations that took precedence, plus my funds are quite low at the moment. I was actually looking more forward to meeting up with some fellow collectors than the knives. Charlie, I'm trying like hell to make it to Eugene this year:D
To keep with the theme, here's a Hibbard,Spencer, and Bartlett that I think was made by Ulster, but I'm not positive:

Eric,
Looks like that last barlow has OVB (Our Very Best) on the main blade.. A Camillus trade mark.
Nice !

Thanks Larry, It's actually a Hibbard, Spencer, and Bartlett (I added that above as well), which of course means it was contracted out. it's always fun trying to figure out who the actual maker was, although it's kind of tough with the small barlows.

Still looking for two, Larry! One for you, and one for me!!;)

Bump.
I found this old thread while researching DEEEP in the archives.
It goes along well with the current discussion on Barlows.

Still no sign of a 12OT yet. Someone needs to come up with one.

In the meantime, here is an Ulster Dwight Divine & Sons Daddy Barlow I've posted before. Anyone familiar with the age of this stamping?

Interesting pattern number 115 3/4. And it has a half-stop.

Barlows?? Did someone say Barlows??
Thanks for showing me your great knives, everyone!
And thanks for starting this thread Eric!! I love showing off these knives; my favorite bunch!!
First the older ones, topped of with an ugly beauty, a rare sheepfoot;

Last but not least, the not as old, along with some old Ulsters;

Charlie: Is that 2nd from the bottom Ulster Old Timer saw cut bone? I've seen these before, but barlow pics are awesome.

...not to forget this pair of Schrade sawcut brown bone beauties from the Russell Barlow 1998 Limited Edition......these are what you call Sawcut!..Hoo Roo
