Barlows Anyone?

Hal, the bottom three are saw cut bone. Some of the smooth ones may have been also, then zealously polished.
Camillus (I am 99% sure it was them) really emphasized the saw cut on those knives Larry.
Nice set!

I just ordered 2 schrade old timer barlows. They aren't real quality or whatever they look nice and will work for what I need, I ordered one for me and one for my grandpa, I'll take some pictures when they get here.

Thanks for bringing back this thread, brought back good memories from the days when Bill (El Lobo) was with us, he was a fine man.

Here's my Barlow from the old Schrade facilities in Listowel, Ireland, it is stamped "Stag Ireland" on main blade.

Inexpensive but good, with carbon baldes, sheet steel hollow bolsters, steel liners. I remade the handle covers with epoxy putty.

I was thinking this too , as I was looking through the thread.

And I agree with Larry, good to see you around too, Luis!

Thanks for your comments, I'll try to drop by more often.

So as not to hijack the thread, here's a pic of my Boker Barlow:

Just thought I would show off what I did to my Barlow(china).
Petrified palm (with tubers vertical and with tubers horizontal) with red jasper between.

Well I found a Ulster 12OT. It was hiding on the bay.
Its main blade has what Dale called a belly but its in fair shape otherwise.
Handles are delrin
I cleaned out the tang area a bit to find the stamping.
I'll buff it up a little for pictures later.

I can check this one off the remaining list.

Going through this thread is like meeting up with an old friend! (I DO have to get out more:rolleyes:) )
Thanks for bringing it back, Larry, and congrats on the 12OT!!!

Now I gotta go find a knife pic and join the party . . . . . . . .

Great find Larry, love those handles! Congrats!

Eric

PS- That's great to know Charlie, you can definitely see the difference in pin placement and hafting.

I do have a 206 which seems to already be well represented.
My other three are all 1983 Schrade Heritage variety in
Red, Green, and Brown Bone.
Gotta luv them barlows.
