I don't think there is any structural issue with the carbon fiber sebenza's. If there was, I'm sure Mr. Reeve would not continue to produce them. In the case of this one, it was just too nice to use, and I didn't feel comfortable defiling this masterpiece! I have other damascus users - large raindrop, ladder & spirograph 21's - but the basketweave is on a whole different level. Also, I have a large Klotzli with carbon fiber scales about 1/3 the thickness of the Sebenza, and it is VERY rigid - no blade movement or deflection at all. This is some tuff stuff!

XJ, You're right, it's odd to see this many of a low production model being resold!
 
Just in case anyone is interested, they are back in stock at Knife Art!! Single blue thumb stud, I just ordered another one!! :) You never know when you might need another BBQ Knife!!

I picked up another BW Seb with UG so decided to let this one go to a good home. This knife was perfect with absolutely no issuses. I recommend one if you like the lighter feel.
