I had 4 orders in for 2 each. They all said Back ordered until today when i received notice that one of the orders had been cancelled. I suppose ill get the rest of the notices tomorrow. I was hoping against hope that somehow they'd come up with a couple for me but no deal. I even had one order with a $20 off coupon. Oh well. If anyone has one or two or three, let me know.

I'm glad I bought that Bass Pro prototype CPM154 Dorado last week. It's actually on my belt right now. I just had a feeling that with no 154CPMs or CM154's in Bucks 2010 catalog there would be a clearing out of these knives and they won't be coming back.

There's always flea-bay.

BP's use CPM154
Cabelas use CPM-S30V
Buck's medium grade used to be 154CM

I forget the difference between the CPM154 and 154CM but I think the CPM154 may be a powder steel. Some people like it better than S30V as the CPM154 is supposed to have a finer grain with similar edge holding. At least, that's what I'm remembering. g

CPM stands for Crucible Powder Metal.

I dont see the Cabela's anymore either but sometimes things just dont show for me. Ill take a link if anyone has one.

We are about 3 weeks to ship them more. This has not been dropped by them.

who we talking now, Cabelas or BP? Cabelas I assume- I got a very definite cancellation from BP unless they are just trying to not honor the price. Of course i threw it away already but i should get another one tomorrow. I have several orders still 'open'. Maybe its online, I'll check. Nope nuttin.

BSP,

I'm not sure what you are talking about? I just went to the BPS on-line store and the fancy CPM154 110 is still listed and taking orders.

I would suggest you re-order in about 1 month as per Jeff's information. BPS most likely will not let back orders stay open for to long, good business not to leave a customer hanging for an extended amount of time.

Thank you- I def do that .

CPM 154 is sintered(powdered) and will take a finer edge because the carbides are dispersed more evenly than traditionally smelted 154 CM. CPM steels will not take lateral stress well. They will simply shear, rather than bend like their smelted counterparts. They are also prone to edge chipping, unlike traditionally smelted steels. For fine edges, CPM is the way to go. For hard use, smelted is the way to go.

Buck-110, is there any reason Crucible hasn't come out with a smelted S30V CM (or maybe it has and I don't know it)?
