Bass Pro is finished w the 110 154CM

Another CPM154 blade missing from the 2010 Buck catalog - the Gen5 #005RWS. The simple 420HC #005GYS is still listed.

Interestingly and thankfully, Bass Pro is still holding open my two remaining AG 110 orders.

It's late BS,

Bass Pro Shop does not sell Cabela's Alaskan Guide Series knives...LOL. But, we all know what you are saying. Keep checking to see when the BP 154's are back in stock. You could just call each of the retail stores and try to locate a few.

Thats a good idea from JB, I'd call every Bass Pro store in hopes of locateing one . Then hope theres a good employee on duty in that dept. who knows where to look . DM

I assume their 440C and 154 CM fill the non-CPM gap well.

Speaking of 154 CM, check these out:

Notice in the fifth paragraph where it states: "For heat treating, we use the world famous Paul Bos System."
I'm curious to know if they purchase heat treated blades from Paul Bos, or employ his technique at their own facility. What ever the case may be, those blades might as well have BUCK stamped into them.

AS long as Paul Bos is with buck he will take orders to heat treat your blades you send to him at buck
i think he does it by the total inchs of blades you send
i dont think he dips in to bucks blades to sell to folks
jest if you send him the steel blank he will HT it
and if you DO send him a blank be sure to say what steel it is!!!
he does not like guessing what steel a blank is and
he will likely charge for a 2ed HT if you miss lable it ..
i agree my friend almost a buck with the Bos/buck HT

If i was a horse, they'd shoot me and i'd deserve it. Too many parties in 60/70's. I think the nearest one of either one of them zip (10601) was 160 miles away. Here I am 20 Mi to Manhattan and there wasn't even a Dick's within a reasonable drive. I already have them thankfully and more of each on order.

My heart sank a little when I saw this thread, I've wanted one for awhile. Looks like as soon as the get back in stock I'll be ordering one.

Yeah-ive always thought that when someone makes a mistake in a thread title like this, they ought to change it.

Dave, and anyone else interested. Here's a couple of pages from Paul's brochure outlining the procedure for shipping him blanks for heat treating and the prices. I tried to upload the entire pdf brochure but it was too large.

Note, this is 5 years old, prices may have changed. Mike

They had a cpm 154 Buck 110 in stock at Bass Pro in Olathe, Ks. today. If any one is still looking. The price is up $74.99. I think that is a $5 raise from last year. They are very clueless and don't know what they have so I doubt calling would do you any good.

Here is notice i received today from BP

On a separate note, I bought a custom 110 with Amboyna Scales and I lost it!! It was my new favorite- I took a picture of it and then it dissapeared. Here it is

Check your easy chair/recliner/sofa... seriously! I found a CS BG-42 110 inside the sofa - in a hole through the dust cover. Murphy's Law is explicit on this! The recliner had three pair of dollar store readers and a Boker Tree Brand classic the last time I turned it over.

If you smelted S30V, the Vanadium content would be lowered from 3% to 2%. Conventional smelting does not allow for a Vanadium content above 2%. With particle metallurgy, the Vanadium can be pushed to 12%. Vanadium forms a hard carbide (82 Rockwell C) which greatly improves a blade's wear resistance. The particle metallurgy process produces a finer grain structure which allows materials like ZDP-189 to be hardened up to 67 Rockwell C and still resist the chipping out that would occur if you hardened a smelted material to that degree.

Sometimes when I run up against a wall(more often than I should in some cases:p) I just quit thinking about it and many times it will just show up. I hope that this happens for you. Preston

Got a Cabela's Alaskan Guide 110 today, great fit & finish. The workmanship on the knife is flawless. The list price was $79,but when I ordered it on the phone, they told me it was on sale for $69. The S30V blade is razor sharp, this knife is gonna be riding on my pistol belt.

Thanks for the info.

Yes, they are great knives, designed for use. I have two AG 110's in stag and I'm keeping my eyes open for a third. (One to use, one as a backup and one just for looks.) :)

Bought my BP 110 in CPM154 last year. It's one of my favorite carry Bucks, good thing I bought one from the sounds of it!
