Batoning SR101

I've always heard that SR101, is 90% of the performance at 50% of the cost. ( As compared to INFI)
But, here's what was truly illuminating. SR101, is even just a bit better than 3V......

Actually, the typical design of SR101 knives is sabre ground instead of flat groud like most INFI is. Sabre grinds are typically better at batoning, so your SR101 blade might actually be a better batoning blade than INFI. I have the DTBM in SR101 and I of course have several SHBM's. The DTBM is 1/4" and it feels heavier than the SHBM. I have not batoned with it, but I expect it to be better than the SHBM at it based on my use of other sabre ground blades. I think the flat grind starts to make the batoning comeback when the blade gets 0.3" thick or more.
