Batoning SR101

I love my rats but the Battle Grade .260 SFNO is pretty sweet as well :D. The SR101 FBMs are going to be king of the hill in the 101 chopper dept.

I have to say I really love my BG boss jacks full flat grind and BG ASHs.

I've always heard that SR101, is 90% of the performance at 50% of the cost. ( As compared to INFI)
But, here's what was truly illuminating. SR101, is even just a bit better than 3V......

Really! I hadn't seen a comparison of 3V and SR101.

From what I understand, Busse has done extensive testing with 3v. Simply put, if it were better they would be using it. Not my words. Busse.
Now, as far as how the 3v was heated, I'm not sure.

Yeah I think heat treat has a lot to do with it. My main complaint with SR101 is how rust prone it is. I mean no worse really than like 1095 or something, so you just gotta take care of your stuff, but INFI has the distinct advantage there.

Those statistics!!!

Uh...... What? 52100 is good stuff but I'm not sure anyone would put it above 3V in anything. Especially after peters developed the delta heat treat. Much cheaper though.

No inner tube here! Longer thicker handle makes a HUGE difference!
This wasn't too hard to do but if I did it again I would make the middle part rings of horsemat stall to absorb shock better - this is fine but every now and then you can feel an off blow, especially through the pommel. Also SR101 is NOT as tough as 3V, this edge gets pretty beat up but to be fair I use it for root work so it comes into contact with stones. The second pic shows it after some more sanding, I never have gotten it really pretty but it works!
