Batoning ?

Just spoke to their sales manager, all I need to do is send him a picture of the blade and my shipping address, and I can get my new blade.

Yep, he was very responsive, really went overboard to accommodate a prob I had. Stellar service.

I can't agree with you more, it was the most enjoyable customer service I've ever had, I'm probably going to buy more knives from them now, just knowing how solidly they stand by their product.

I have to say that a prefer batoning to chopping. I generally use a pocket chainsaw and a 7-12" bladed knife with a convex edge. I have done this hundreds of times to hundreds of logs and I find it easier and safer than an axe. I like knives at least 1/4" thick but prefer something in the 5/16" neighborhood as it seems to "pop" the wood apart better. I generally use my Cold Steel Recon Scout or Trailmaster and I love them. I am looking into designing a blade based on what I've learned but that may still be a ways out. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Good luck with the repair and break another one for me :)
