Battle Axe ???

This one is forged from a US made 32oz ball pein hammer. It is sort of a cross between a tomahawk,a halbred and a boarding axe. Differentially heat treated.
O.A.L. of head 8 7/8 in.
Blade width across 4 in.
spike 4 5/16 in. from center of eye
Haft is handmade from red oak length is 23 1/2 in.
Lightly aged patina on head.

Keith, I do the rough forging with a power hammer. Then is when the slow down comes. I just go really slow to round or square up the spike. The blade I just keep fish tailing so to say with the peen of the hammer and then smooth up and grind.
