battle of the 9's

this is why glock is the most widely carried brand of pistol by american law enforcement, they just work. under dire circumstances as well.

I agree Glocks have a reputation for reliability, but they are widely carried by L.E. because their employees achieve higher range scores and they are simple to understand, i.e. no decock, safety. They are also inexpensive, which can be a substantial savings for a large department.

if they didnt work well they could be giving them away with no takers, the darned things work and work well imho.

I'm trying to think of a good reason why someone would so woefully neglect their key piece of survival gear.

Glock or not, that kind of neglect will catch up to you and bite you in the ass.

.

I know, I know... pure laziness on my part. I guess just thinking of it as a tool rather than equipment. Like my work tools I just throw them around, and never clean them even though I use them daily.

The G19 is practically a standard, and it has earned a good reputation, but there are better guns out there.

I agree, but Cornwell, SnapOn, Craftsman, and Husky all do the same job. I honestly can't say that one was any advantage over the other.

What I mean is if you like a FN get one. Like A Beretta, Sig or HK then get one of those. They all do the same job.

I was new to centerfire pistols when I bought my Glock. Most people said plastic was junk, and it was just a cheap striker fire Jennings copy that would probaly fall apart. Sixteen years later, and now everyone has a plastic frame gun they claim to be the best. If I had the money I would buy a pistol from every quality maker out there.

I don't know how to use the multi quote function yet.

I sold my H&K P9s for a Glock 17. NO REGRETS! Boy, was I nervous at first, though!

Another vote for the Glock Brand of 9mms.

The 17,19,34 and 26 are a great set of pistols utilizing the 9mm Luger platform.

Different sizes for different applications, just like a precision set of tools.

For my personal preference, I am partial to the infamous Glock 7. It's a porcelain gun

made in Germany. It doesn't show up on airport X-ray machines, and it cost more than

you make in a month.

Just want to give another shout out to the CZ line of 9's. The CZ-75 and variants including the CZ-P01 are solid pistols with great ergonomics and build quality.

If you didn't shoot it, or even remove the magazine for 3 years, then you simply carried it daily. This is not the same as "using it."

:D

Yep, you got me there DavidE. I'm just lazy. I haven't used my crimpers(to crimp round pipe, not the explosives type crimpers) in about 2 years , but I still carry them in my pouch daily, so I stand corrected. I'm a carrier, not a user.

I have a glock 17 and a glock 19. Both are fantastic. Either you like the Glock trigger or you don't. I do. The glock rocks.

I have a Browning 9mm. It is probably the "sexiest" gun that I own and also the heaviest.

But, the Springfield XD is excellent as well. It is a "croatian glock." The trigger pull is like the glock, but it has: a grip safety, a loaded chamber indicator, and a cocked trigger indicator.

If I could trade all my glocks for XDs, I might.
