Pappy looked cool, but for me the handles were too small.
I prefer the TGLB for a user.

Que all the Dave Brown = Hell Boy hands quotes :)

Agreed, while the BP is one of the coolest looking designs out there, that coffin handle absolutely ruined the experience for my XXL paws too. The longer I held it the more it pulled my thumb & index finger knuckles into the guard to the point of being very uncomfortable, so it had to move along. No such problems with TG handle. :) At the 2010 AG Russell show I was so excited to have a chance at one I did not notice such deficiencies for the short time I held the BP, but figured it out later when mine came in the mail. Now the TTKZ handle on the other hand... AWESOME!! :D

I got pretty big hands too , there not as big as yours or Dave's but the BP handles are really comfortable to me. And it only weighs 21 ounces compared to 15 for the TGLB. And with that you get a blade that's 3 inches longer and is
.32 thick.

Those look absolutely awesome!! I think you guys just found me my Grail knife!! That's great, and it doesn't look like it will be easy to find one.
Well the search will be on. JERRY, we need a Battle Pappy in Operation 2 Weeks, PLEASE!!!!

The talk about the handles being a bit small for you guys with the XXL hands is great news for me. Sounds like the BP would fit my hands great.

Nicksison, just based on the rarity alone, if you have to pick I would definitely keep the BP. Any regrets letting the TGLB go and it shouldn't be too hard to grab another, or even try a different variant. But letting go the BP... may be more difficult to replace.

Maybe we'll see some sort of Battle Shark XL make an appearance during the continuation of O2W, which should share some similarities with the Battle Pappy. May be some consolation for the rest of us.

This is a pretty cool thread I think with all the talk about the TGLBLE and the Texican Bowie. Really cool to see how the predecessor to these potential offerings line up to one another! :)

Isn't it pretty comparable with the bwm (with this one being slimmer and a bit longer)? Does someone have some pics to compare the 2? Or has someone handled both? How much does the battle pappy weight? Thx

;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks mate, so being the BWM approx 22 oz X 10.25" X 0.188" and the pappy 21 oz X 9.75" X 0.325" the two are totally in the same ballpark, with (just from the data, without taking into account sharpening) the BWM having an edge in cutting ability being slimmer. If someone has handled both i'd be curious to hear (better read) some sort of comparison. Thanks fellas.

Never handle the BP but it is one of the least beautiful Busse out there for me.

The thick guard, handle shape, the texturing... are all wrong IMO.

There are no comparison to the legendary TGLB.

I would like to try my hand at a Pappy - I don't have small hands, wear an 8.5-9 in glove sizes....the BP handle would be great for me.

Just holding a fusion handle knife makes the handle look very big in my hands, although it has so many hand purchase options, it is actually a very practical handle in many ways for me...

Good Lord, Tim you have big ass meat hooks!!!

And DB's are astounding as well...

I still don’t know why I passed the Battle Pappy up. I still love the look but doubt I’ll ever get my hands on one close to the original price.
