Grinder marks are there to i.d./designate what blade(s) are to be coated?
I have stripped blades with and without it. Seems that if that was the case it could be done on the handle where the scales would cover it.
 
Yea..just a guess..

The four INFI blades I've stripped, HHFSH, FSH and two 55's had no intentional grind marks..all were clean.

The BG MOFO I just stripped has one fairly light chatter across primary flat..non logo side..doesn't bother me..adds some character...but it's minor.

I've seen varying degrees of the grinder marks...seen some that looked like someone went crazy with the Cheese Wiz..
 
My only other guess is post-HT removal of heavy scale with a die grinder or similar. But then why didn't we see this with older blades? Were they maybe using a wire wheel back then, and have found a more cost effective process now? :confused:
