Battle Saw BG!. . . . It's What's Next!!!

I would have jumped all over this, still wish I would have gotten an original INFI one from the first grab bags during op2wpt1. My only qualm is that any larger chopper I have will need to be batoned at some point, and I see the teeth getting in the way of that. I always have personal sized saws with me when I am out in nature, so the teeth on the battle saw mean redundancy. I would love this knife with no teeth (or cbt) kind of like a shbm. Congrats to those who got one though, still a killer cool blade :thumbsup:

There is enough bare spine ahead of the teeth that batoning is not an issue. Speaking from experience. ;) (Old pic, mine has seen a LOT more usage since! :D)

Sheesh. Me without a penny to my name too. Keep knocking em out of the park Jer! I'll have dough for one or another coming up......

Something else in A2? The TGA2 seemed pretty well accepted. ASH1 perhaps? I would have to purchase one. So would Andy. That's two sales fer sure.

Pretty much where I'm at too. All the ones I wanted seem to be popping up now so by my calculations the ScrapZilla should be showing up anytime now.

no there's no satin finish option. that'd be a custom shop item and the cs is closed due to backlog. he was just kidding that the blades that come out the best with no defects after grinding are reserved for custom shop orders "i think"

Not talking about marks left over from the actual grinding of the blade. Talking about the ones that look purposefully done with a zip wheel after the blade has been ground. I've cut my buying way back because of those.

I often wonder why they do that. I had two theories. It would prevent someone from buying a less expensive grade and refininshing it then passing it off as a higher grade. Or it may have something to do with having the the powder coat stick.

Clampdaddy
I have a few Swamp rats like that.
Yours, however, seem to be more pronounced, but squigglies up and down the blade aren't rare I think

That has to be intentional!?! Like above maybe there is a practical application to it that we're not seeing from our standpoint?

So you're saying there's never been even a hint as to why this is done? Clampdaddy's photo clearly says to me this is intentional and both theories seem plausible- adhesion or forgery prevention or both.

I have stripped a few blades and have seen minor grinder gremlin marks nothing that bad though. So far in my experience it has only ever been on one side so I dont think it has to do with better adhesion of the coating

These grinder gremlin marks were not present on some of the older models, they seem to be a more recent "addition", like in the last 4-5 years. The coating stuck just fine on those older models. Take that for what you will.
