Battletrough 2013 is coming soon. . . . The Baddest Blade In The Land Returns!!!!!!!!

Will Busse offer a version without skeletonized tang?
Heavier tang definitely is helpful for weight balance.

What makes you think the balance on this knife will be wrong? Have you handled one?

AFAIK, the whole point of the LB treatment is to effect improved balance in a knife. I, and others, have had large Busse knives that had poor balance; too handle heavy. Several of us have asked if the shop would mod our knives by drilling the tang to take some weight out, but were turned down. Jerry believes that drilled tangs in a big chopper cause more vibration to be transmitted to the hand, so he won't do it. He also stated that they can't do tapered tangs because of the exposed butt.

So the milled out LB process appears to be a way to dial in exactly the balance he wants in a given knife. One could easily imagine that Busse made a number of LBNMSHBM with different amounts of metal removed from the handle, and then tested them for feel, balance, and performance until arriving at what Jerry believes to be the ideal for what he is trying to achieve.

(if I must say so myself, pretty coherent response after three double bourbons, no?)
