'bcbegan' sells Kershaw blems as 'Brand New'

The title tells it all. I bought a Kershaw blemished/factory second, originally bought by the seller I mentioned - 'bcbegan' - in 'as-is', ie, not factory warranted condition, from Kershaw's Outlet Store. No problem if you know ahead of time that is what the four X's on the blade signify - which I didn't know. I now know! He, however, offered mine - and still has two auctions running - heralded as 'Brand New Kershaw...', further mentiioning 'new' in the description. This is very misleading! My knife from him came wrapped in bubble wrap with no papers in a padded envelope. Below is another 1725CB my wife got me for Christmas from a 'proper' Kershaw vendor - for less than the as-is knife-only I got from 'bcbegan' off evil-bay - and with the zippered pouch, box, papers, and warranted, too.

I sent him a message, thus far unanswered, of my displeasure. I will give him a few more hours to answer - and change his listings - before I give him the negative feedback he is due. In fairness, the knife is fine, save those X's. Realistically, as it is not AO, I doubt it will ever 'break' and need a trip home for r&r - none of my other Kershaws have. It's the principle - I expected the pouch & box, etc, as it was listed as 'Brand New' - not an 'as-is' blem from Kershaw's 'outlet store'.

Below is, top down, how my cheaper 'Brand New Kershaw1725CB' which came from one evil-bay buy-it-now knife vendor vs the same label/more expensive auction won from 'bcbegan' - note the 'X X X X' below the label on the blade:

How long has it been since you have heard from him? I would give him a chance to make right, a couple days at least.

Maybe is people bombard him with questions regarding the fact that they are factory seconds, the seller will get the picture.

He was asked about it, said he didn't know they were blems.
He was then asked about it (days later) by another person and said he didn't know, never heard of that.
He's full of it and a ripoff.
And he still hasn't answered Stainz who was the purchaser.

There is more info in the Kershaw sub-forum here on BF's if you want to take a look.

But please keep the posts in this thread to help serve others.

Stainz, I hope you get some satisfaction out of this.
If there is nothing wrong with the knife and you're happy with it, then fine.
It's your call.
But the seller needs to change his info on the Bay because it is wrong and
he is misleading potential customers.

If he bought them at the Kershaw sale he knows what they are and they are cosmetic blems. Kershaw had signs all over the place stating that. No one at the yearly sale didn't know what they were buying. Kershaw even had a sign saying they would contact Ebay and get auctions pulled if they saw misleading Ebay adds.

He answered my delivery question rapidly, post sale. I e-mailed him fairly quickly upon receipt re the 'as is' nature vs his advertised 'Brand New' listing. His other evil-bay offers hadn't changed - still 'Brand New' - the 1725CB now has 'Free Shipping'. I didn't want to start the New Year on a 'downer', so I gave him his feedback last evening. I consider the matter closed.

The knife I bought was fine - neither I nor the others I've shown it to can find any fault with it. In fact, I like it's 'look' better than the regular black one. I just 'assumed' it would, as 'Brand New', come with box, pouch, and papers. I keep such for everything I own. I have a fixed blade (Puma 'White Hunter' & sheath.) bought used and a couple of folders bought blister-packed that I don't have the packaging for - otherwise, I have everything for my 'collection'. I am 'content' with the knife, just feel cheated re the rest - and wanted others to know so they can avoid him, if they choose to. His rating dropped from 100%, of course - but not by much.

Happy New Year!

There is a dispute mechanism on eBay exactly for situations like this.

It brings it to eBay's notice, and might force the seller to change his discription.
I have found this works very well, and do not have to battle thru emails that the seller can ignore.
