No pin choice on this one. Maybe you were thinking of ordering a 110FG Sambar Nickel Silver w/BG-42 clip-point from the Custom Shoppe???

Yeah, I am thinking of a 110FG NS Sambar, but with DM. Gonna order from the Custom Shoppppeeee when they get DM back on the order site screen.

Still not certain about the pins...something about "glue" holding the antlers on bugs me. If someone could post a pic of one of each (stag pin/stag no-pin) that would be great.

I have a Pete's Custom 110 with bg-42 and fantastic stag that I have used several years for cleaning rabbits. The stag inlays are not pinned for three reasons.
First, I think the knife looks better sans handle pins.
Second, today's epoxies are incredibly strong and in spite of hot water clean-ups and Indiana's yo-yo temperatures and humidity, I have never had a problem.
Finally, I worry more about cracks in stag around the handle pins than I ever would worry about epoxy failing. If the epoxy should fail, the inlays could be glued again. I do not know how to "uncrack" stag!!

Here is a link to ebay; there is at least a pic of a 110/Sambar (W/pins)/DM Blade. For the no pin look one of the other fourm guys can post one (Preston?). Sorry, but I don't have a 110 with a DM blade yet.

I looked at that one you linked with the pins ($350 plus shipping!!!). Then I thought I'd search "buck damascus" and found one with NO pins:

Am thinking I like the NO pins look on the stag. Am thinking of using it as a EDC when and if I get one. Given that, the looks and Larry's comments about the cracking is a good point for me to also consider.

This is a better picture, I edited and put in this one in with brass bolsters and fingergrooved that Leroy did last fall. It will give you the look w/o pins which I like on textured scales. Preston
