I don't go there often but it looks like the page is no longer associated with BCCI and the page name has been changed. Also a different BCCI page which was for BCCI members only has been 'paused'. Does BCCI have a new page or what gives? Someone save me from having to read back thru a bunch of threads over there. Always found the format cumbersome.

The BCCI president was relieved of his duties a few weeks back. The former president had started the BCCI Facebook page a few years ago and it was never officially a part of BCCI. The new president wanted control of the page and was told no by the former president. In order to avoid confusion moving forward, the former president changed the page name.

DUH, OK March 5th email, got it. Guess I didn't pay much attention to what it was about.
Too many internet sites will dilutes time. I spend my time here and occasionally peek elsewhere. Not enough hours in the day to follow multiple sites but always wonder what I'm missing.

I don't do/have facebook. I'd like to see the club BCCI concentrate on it's own web site that is for BCCI members only.
I did not have Facebook for a long time but relented. I do not do the "Friends" social networking aspect but like to use Market Place and there are some special interest groups on Facebook that I like to read occasionally. I do know some people who put their whole life out there. Marketplace is a handy place to unload stuff as I look to downsizing. Purchased a really neat buffing/polishing setup there a couple weeks ago for little money.

It kind of sounds like some people were kicked off his page and were upset about it so the BCCI decided to start an official BCCI page and stop him from using the BCCI in the name of his page.

Strange things going on and quite distasteful.

I also wish that BCCI members would devote more attention to the web page. Last time I went on there I could almost smell the dust, and I'm pretty sure I saw a tumbleweed. I am not on the Bookface at all, and don't plan to be. I do appreciate the email updates, and I'm thankful for this wonderful community we have here on Blade Forums, many of whom are also BCCI members.

Drama-free zones are the best.
Cheers!

Yes, a lot of cricket noises. The FB page is a lot more active, which is why I go there more.

Do I need to recite the reason I quit the club?
Probably not, so I'll offer the Cliff's notes version.

The club is a non-profit so the financials are public and easy to find.

No one wants to lift a finger to clean up what is arguably the club's only asset. But fund raisers continue, dues continues to be collected, and only those who attend BLADE, or like donuts are openly benefitting from this money.

There... I said it again.

I doubt Vern would appreciate the division, direction, or abandonment of the resourse.

What was the other knife club that had a similar trajectory before disappearing for good? NKCA?

I don’t know why but I always have difficulty signing into the bcci web page. Most other pages I am on my browser recognizes my device and my user name and password but the bcci page doesn’t and I have to manually enter everything and using a strong password that’s impossible to remember so it is frustrating to go onto the website. Also using the search function is clunky and often times isn’t helpful. I’m not tech savvy enough to know why or if it’s my settings or what but there’s definitely a difference with the bcci page.

That's interesting.

For me the BCCI site has my user log-in and password right there at the top all the time. I just have to click on it and I'm in.

I probably have been hacked and don't know it.

It could be because I have been using my phone or iPad to go on and maybe the bcci page isn’t setup for mobile devices. I just got a laptop last week so I’m going to try going on the site to see how it works.
