BCCI Fundraising knives

Can BCCI members order more than one fundraising knife -- for example, one to save and one to use?

Thanks, -Alex

Hmm, what about a Ti frame 112 with some type of insert and BG-42/S30... :D

Larry, the Ti frames a great idea, but G10 has been so overdone on so many knives. Maybe stabilized snakewood and D2?..now that would be one helluva 110!

Alex,
There will be NO limit on the number of knives you can order. Buck will build them to satisfy our order. We will give them the number after we know how many are sold.

That is one nice looking knife!
I just got my cabela's 110 a short while ago. Now, I guess I'll have to start thinking about getting it a bone handled brother....

The club just received the S30V110s today. There was some delay due to difficulties with obtaining the handle material. The shipping process is underway and they will be ready to ship very shortly.

I have been waiting patiently but now that I know they are about to be shipped I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. :D

How about something upgraded in the 501 frame? I dont know if there is a large enough interest in them. Another chapter in Larry's story of the 501.

Guy,

I'll put the 501 down on our list for discussion. Any particular type of handle material that interests you?

John

"I am having a difficult time deciding whether there will be more "collectors" or more "users" who order this 110. For the collectors, it will be a very unusual, 'gotta have' 110. For users, how can you beat the combination of s30v blade steel, a really neat handle inlay and nickel silver frame with the famous 110?!! Some guys will order extra's just to be able to have other favorite inlays done aftermarket."

The quote above was from Larry Oden.

I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my 110 with Bone Worm Groove handles with a Nickel Silver frame. UNFORTUNATELY, that is NOT what I received. It was made with a BRASS frame and bolsters. To put it Politely, I am dissappointed. I love Buck knives and have many of them including several 110's all with Brass frame and bolsters. I ordered the Fund Raiser knife largely to have a 110 with Nickel Silver instead of brass.

I cannot fathom how this switch was made without allowing a choice of cancelling the order!

Peterinct,

Larry and I were quite dismayed when the 110s arrived with the wrong choice of brass instead of nickel silver. Buck's special projects department did indeed make the mistake. Nickel silver was clearly ordered. Unfortunately, errors do occur. The decision on our part to ship these knives was made in order to accommodate club members, the delay in the shipping of these knives had already extended for too long. Upon inspection, the brass bolsters actually looked quite well. It was felt that most members would most likely not be displeased with the knives. That said, if you are not pleased, simply send the knife back to Larry, for a full refund. I apologize for Buck's error.

Seems like Buck is one screwup after another lately. Someone needs to be called on the carpet for this. I never would have ordered this knife with the brass bolsters.

Deliver what I ordered or save the shipping and send me my money back.

DL

I will say that the knife I received is very nice. It locks up perfectly, opens reasonably smoothly and the finish is as good as could be expected. But I really was craving nickel silver and brass just isn't what I ordered.

I don't know the quantity ordered, but I would have liked to have had the opportunity to decide whether or not to accept the brass.

I appreciate the offer to return it, and would like to know if my shipping costs will be included in the refund. I am sorry to have to complain, but as bbb4u stated, I would not have ordered it if brass was specified.

Peter

If you're not happy with the knives as is, you might consider putting them on e bay. Whether you realize it or not, this will be a rare 110 configuration and its only been available to BCCI members. You stand a good chance of making some cash over what you have into the knives. As a 110 collector, I'd jump at the chance for one if I didn't have one already inbound.

The more I think about this, I think Buck should take the entire order back from the Collector Club and deliver what they offered. The Company should be catering to the Club, NOT the other way around. They should pickup the return shipping and put this order on the front burner to get it done ASAP.

Let Buck sell the brass ones on eBay if they so desire.

If this order was done for a Vendor they would be bending over backward to make it right!

AND:
We are still waiting for our "2004 Club Knife" that had to be paid for 5 Months ago-- July 31st,, and was to be shipped in December....'04 I think!

I recieved my knives today and was also suprised at the brass bolsters. It really doesn't matter to me as I'm a collector of brass as well as nickel silver frame 110's. Even though the nickel seems to be more desirable, I agree that the brass looks better with the coloring of the bone. Just my opinion. :)

Hell Scott, I've been haunting my mailbox watching for mine, now I'll have to wait for Monday. I thought from the beginning that brass would be better suited for that handle material, but either way, theres a spot in one of my display cases for it. With Buck's move, fixing this problem would take a lot longer than I want to wait. ;)
