I am going to satin finish the whole thing. I really think it looks good!
I'll leave the modded blur blade blasted and tumbled. Then you can see both finishes.

Sure..no problem. However, I ask that we wait until after the holidays..for obvious reasons;)
Just drop me an E-mail sometime:thumbup:

Ya great that sounds awesome thanks so much. I'll shoot ya an email after the holidays.

holy smokes batman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....dude you do awesome work!!.....my blades look sick i tell ya.....i am gonna post some pics tomorrow once i get a minute.....man ohh man....ANYONE in need of a helping hand in regards to beadblasting needs to look mitch up.....he did some great work.....not to mention packed well....it took me like half and hour to open the package!:D.....ryan

Glad you like them ryan...can't wait to see them assembled! What do you think about the satin blade? just curious....

Woah, those after shots are dazzling. I have some questions though. What effect do beadblasting and going through the tumbler have on a blade's rust resistance?

I would think they would keep their perscribed resistance....I have had my tenacious's blade blasted for about a month now, and with regular use it hasn't exhibited any signs of corrosion. Same with all my clips...although I must say my personal clips get a clear coat;)

In a hypothetical situation though, say a D2 blade in Florida, doesn't beadblasting introduce microscopic pores into the blade? More surface area and little nooks and crannies for rust to form. Right

Yes, it does abrade the surface. And you do make a valid point about the nooks and crannies. So in that situation having a bead blasted blade probably isn't a good choice.

to be honest i prefer the other two blades to the satin one....i always liked stuff not too shiny.....it does look good though and i plan on using it to the fullest!.....it looks similar to a scothbrite finish but not quite....u didn't use a belt did u?.....ryan

Nope....I used a 2" Scotchbrite drum...the reason I like that finish is because you can use your knife without fear of scratching up the finish...unless of course you like to cut concrete with your folder..lol

Scooby sent in some more “goodies” . Here is his user Endura which he wanted blasted and “satin” finished.

Close-ups of the blade…..the poor spydie bug didn’t make it :grumpy:

Scooby, hope you are ready to put your paper wheels to work.....that knife won't cut hot butter as it is now! lol

Here are some pictures of Scooby’s Lg. Sebenza before and after bead blasting. I really think that the bead blasting looks great on Ti. Scales….the pictures don’t do them any justice!

Here is a shot of the lock-bar side scale as a comparision…it is unfinished.

Now for the front scale…….

Here are a couple of shots without the flash….same order.

I must admit my photography skills are lacking...I just stand behind a 10mp camera....I'm working on that though:thumbup:

Bump to the top.....Since the holidays are over I will be accepting work, if you desire or need this service.
