bear is on again

Yeah, but it beats Dancing with the stars. I like Bear pretty good personally. I like Les better though.

Damn guy encourages food poisining and stupid moves that could get you hurt.

Only if you are dumb enough to repeat everything you see someone do on TV, whether or not these thing are within your capabilities.

Although I agree, like many others, that he's a bit of a clown, remember, it's a television show, the main purpose of which is to entertain, and entertain he does.

I'd still rather watch Les, though...

I think he is pretty cool guy and i like how he stick the worms in his mouth and bite on them so they explode all over... I bet everyone goes yacks ..... Just remember what ever happend dont do what bear do and you should be o.k ...

I would never do anything Bear does on tv in real life. He's going to get himself killed quickly, and hopefully it will be on camera so we all know what not to do.

Now excuse me, I have some of my own pee to drink...

Yep, it makes perfect sense to bite a fish to kill it then eat it raw when you have a perfectly good knife in your pocket and a fire in the pit :jerkit:

The show is entertaining and I watch it. While I'm not survival expert it just seems that Survivorman is much more informative and realistic.

His show is nothing more than "fear factor" in the wilderness...OR is it in the wilderness??

While Survivorman is informative. Man vs. Wild is slightly more entertaining. IMO. I like Bear and his other accomplishments certainly make him noteworthy.

About last night's new episode... at least it answered the question; "In the wild, does the Bear poop in the woods?". We now know he'll poop on the side of a mountain... on camera. Also, children, see what happens when you eat bugs and raw fish? And... if he was so weakened by his diarrhea at the 'end', pardon the pun, why didn't he ride in the 'copter instead of hanging from it? Still, it beats the stew out of most other 'entertainment' choices - except Les Stroud's 'Survivorman'... he takes his camera crew wherever he goes, too - for a week. Of course, he is his crew...

Another Les goodie - the most knife I've seen him tote - along with his multi-tool - is a Buck 119 - a $34 Wally World knife. Bear still had his custom Bayley, which you can have delivered here with his signature for ~$750 now.

Stainz

I watch Bear for the entertainment. I personally like the fact that he has a crew around if he needs help for some of the stupd crap he does.

It beats watching Les sit around for six days.

The only real differance in the shows is one walks one sits around, as far as entertainment goes.

Both have more knoledge than I do and both "get out and do it" and are getting rich from us watching.

I watch the show and think its entertaining. Bear is pretty ballsy too, but I wouldn't eat all the bugs, fish and game raw like he does. If I can make a fire I'm going to cook what I eat.

Lately, Ive come to lighten up in terms of my attitude toward Bear's show - I absolutely refused to watch it for a long time. Its true that he does a lot of dumb stuff on the program (the guy just can't seem to avoid jumping into shiver inducing bodies of water whenever he gets the chance - its good he has a camera crew to prevent hypothermia from getting out of hand if need be.) It's entertaining to pick out the dumb things & explain why they are dumb. And, Ive picked up a few tid-bits of information that are useful from watching.
I like Les Stroud's show. Of course its all television and they gotta make it entertaining and dramatic for the majority of the audience. (I find it funny when Les goes on sometimes about the 'bleakness' and 'loneliness' of the situation. Hmmm - he knows exactly when the trip will likely be over, one week - unlike a survival situation. - And he's probably making a pretty good pay check to be there. I imagine he's able to afford a nice home to return to when the job is over. - Of course, he's trying to make a point about psychological conditions under true survival situations, but I still find it melodramatic.) Well, a lot better than most of the junk on t.v. nowadays - - -

Survivorman is the better survival show - it contains more and better information.
But you can say about MvW what you want, it's never boring. No matter for what reason (good or bad), there is always something that gets your attention.
Sometimes the show cracks me up, sometimes I'm amazed by the images of nature they show. Also, it gives us another topic to discuss here. :D

I do enjoy Bear's bite-by-bite descriptions while eating some of the ghastly things he gags down though. Very funny - - and it all doesn't taste "just like chicken" ! :)

OMG, I just finished watching the zambia episode. I was laughing all the time. I mean, he steps out of that river with his bodyboard and after a bit of climbing, he starts to eat everything he sees.
I've tried living and doing sports for 2 days without eating anything, and I could have continued. You can basically live without food for more than 2 weeks, but you need water ASAP, and Grylls just keeps eating and eating without bothering to find water. And when he does, he uses his contaminated shirt (remember the river?) to collect it.
Or the stairs he hammers into the tree. :D The fire seemed to make itself on it's own. And it seems like he slept sooo well. :D

Funny, but again, nice landscape.

I enjoy both MvW and Survivorman, both are entertaining for different reasons.

Anyway, I noticed that Bear is now sporting a custom Bayley with serrations instead of his plain edge Bayley he used last year.

One thing I have learned from Bear is do not drink the water without boiling it first.
