Large mustache, no beard. Shaved it twice since 1979. Once for SCUBA diving in the Carribean, once for jump school. Dang SEALs were the only ones who could get away with keeping their facial hair at Ft. Benning - or the only ones tough enough... :D

Here's some more from that guy, and this topic....

"Facial hair is a way for men to bond, he says, the male rendition of the shoes-and-purse love you often see in women. Beard clubs and bulletin boards act as a sort of fraternity, offering camaraderie, community involvement and support — not to mention a steady supply of beer buddies."

Does that mean we have both?

One thing I really appreciate about beards and facial hair in general is that it's definitely one thing that is a 'guy thing'. It's something that women just can't do (carnival freaks notwithstanding). In this day and age, that's a rare commodity. I've always had a goal to grow a really serious civil war era beard. I mean, in those days a beard was a beard, and almost every man had one. Unfortunately, I always give in to modern conventions and trim my beard just before it achieves full civil war thickness.
