I go back and forth between full beard and mountain-man-ish goatee. Never clean shaven. Nothing weirder than being able to feel the wind on your chin!

I prefer my women without a beard.

Wait... you probably meant me! Well, two or three weeks is about as long as I've gone. It was a couple of autumns ago - my wife thought I could be a great Santa - I have the belly. Two weeks into it and a 'friend' commented that I had that Burl Ives look down pat. It was gone that night.

I must be the only guy here with just a mustache. Had one since 1980 or so. My beard is too scraggly to look good grown out but If I could pull off the mountain man look I'd do it in a heartbeat.

..some of the worst decisions I've made in life have been haircuts or shaves..

Right now i rock the so called soul-patch which keeps me looking completely juvenile. I've done the chops (looked like the lovechild of mrT and leprechaun with the green mohawk) I had my goatee long enough to braid before I had to shave it to work in the oil patch (damn sour gas and SCOT packs)
But she doesn't like the sandpaper, so clean shave it is. All else equal, I kinda miss my beard, mostly because it grows in different colors, so people are always trying to guess which one is the natural one.

A short goatee for me, though I'm growing out a narrow beard just along the jawline. Straight razor shaving is too much fun to grow a full one. :D

Usually a 'stache with a small goat on the chin. Everything else comes in patches. I at times think hey maybe I grew up enuf to connect the two and after a few weeks end up shaving the few hairs that grow there. You would think at 42 I would know better. DAMN MY GENES!

Had it since 1975 when I was 15, (now 48) removed it completely 4 times, (court twice, job once and oncne to mess with my wife.

It's gone through every configuration from mustache and chin dot to full blown ZZ Top type beard 8"-10" long, favorite look is 90s Jerry Garcia style.

Some really great stuff in this thread :D I couldn't stop laughing through the entire thread.

I sport a Van Dyke, courtesy of Evolute. I had no idea that's what it was called :p

I grew a scraggely ass beard when I was on the L&D unit for my OB rotation so fewer women would want me in the room. :)
