That is all ...

I admit I've never been tempted... Joined the army in '64... No hair....
Joined the police department in '68... Likewise... Still so employed. Now I have no hair even if I wanted....
On the few occasions I didn't shave for a week or so, my beard got so itchy and bothersome I couldn't imagine continuing...
I assume you get used to it.

"Growing a beard (aka face rug) is a habit most natural, scriptural, manly, and beneficial."
C.H. Spurgeon

A beard is a part of one's body, my beard reflects the changes of life having risen from the color of brown ever thickening, then to a mix of brown and grays, to gray, and now to white.

There is no such thing as wearing a beard, for the beard is a part of you.

For those who shave, you are bare faced, no better than a recent clearcut of a once proud forest. Let it grow out at least once in your lifetime and look into the mirror to see what your face really looks like.

My wife has never seen me without one. :D

I did have to shave clean last year for a job in the Aussie Outback at a lead mine. That's manly enough to make up for the lack of a beard. And it grew back in plenty of time before coming home. ;)

Back during Thanksgiving break we watched some Duck Dynasty at my parents and my wife decided I needed a beard. Have not shaved since. Funny thing is she always hated facial hair till that day.

Since 1972. Neither my children or grandchildren have ever seen me without my beard. A Bic razor lasts me 6 to 8 months of just trimming around the edge a bit every couple days.

For all those starting out once you get passed the itchy stage it doesn't itch anymore, ever.

I was trying to remember the last time I shaved my beard. I think it was in 1987.

Started in high school, junior or senior year. Had to cut back to just a moustache when I worked for UPS first year out of high school, I was a jumper on the truck for the holiday season and there was a strict no beard policy. I had a pretty wild beard going after that, decided to cut it all off except for a goatee and moustache, right around 9/11. For about 7 or 8 years, I had a full beard at my current job, and one day decided to shave everything off except the goatee and moustache. That was a couple years ago, people told me it shaved a lot of years off how old I looked. I've just shaved everything off except for the goatee and moustache every time I get tired of the beard. My goatee is getting some length to it, every time I trim it, I try to leave some length. If I wasn't so damn fat, I'd probably shave it ALL off, but a buddy of mine told me I'd look like Flounder from Animal House if I shaved the whole thing off :D ;) .

Had a full beard once I went to college, got pretty wild for a while. For the last 20 years or so I've had a moustache and goatee. I seem to recall going clean shaven once or twice since college. My wife has "maybe" seen me without the goatee once but maybe not.

I too would look like Flounder without the goatee. Fat and weak chinned is no way to go through life son!

For a couple of years, my goatee was white on one side and reddish on the other. It used to drive my barber crazy because it was hard to tell if he cut it straight. now it is shot through with white.

That itchy stage was a bear to keep from shaving it off. No more itch now and I laugh at the cold wind when I walk outside, and my bald head cries for help.
