Most of the wear on the GM is from working on the edge, and, uh, testing. It did tear open a coconut last night, though:)
Strabs, my 9 has a choil like that, too. I've got a picture around here somewhere of one of the older smooth coat ones in a magazine article, and will try to find it and see if it had one or not (I just assumed they were all like this).
 
Okay, took some photos of the toys in various combinations. We're going to kill off the rest of the roll and take them in, and then we'll see how they come out. Hopefully I'll have something soon.

BTW, isn't "Busse drawer queen" an oxymoron?

Owen even beats up his bedliner. Guess he does it to matech the coating on the knives!:cool:
 
Anyone have a BM or SH LE that has really been used? I think either of these models is the Busse I am looking for and I would like to decide between the CG or LE version for a user. Heck, while your at it throw up some CG pics as well.

LOL! I know what that's like! :D

Lately for me, if it doesn't end up downrange in a backstop, it's Type III hard anodized and I'm stuffing 123 lithiums into it. Such is life. At least we have our priorities straight. :)

That's just the tailgate. Unfortunately most of the wear on my bedliner is from moving other people's furniture. Been a couple of weeks, so I'm expecting another phone call soon.
Such are the hazards of owning a truck...
One of my friends sold his truck awhile back. I asked what he was going to do when he needed to haul something.
"I'll just use yours".

You may notice I modified the edge. I thinned it out quite a bit and convexed it. I did only the flat-ground side, but will do the convex side also, probably, to make it symmetrical. It's more evident in this pic:

Here is the only picture I have of one of my beat up Busses. I only have one "Safe Queen" (but no safe) and that is my ZTNO.
My Natural Outlaw may not be one of the most beat up Busses on this thread but it is one of the most widly traveled. This knife has been to Hohenfels Germany with me and to Operation Enduring Freedom with me. Two almost extreme opposites.
This picture was taken before I left for the "Sandbox". The knife is even more beat up now. Once I get a digital camera I will post some more beater pictures including my much loved and abused Euro Four.

Come on now lets get this thread over a 100 post!!!!! we all have Busse's & most of us have digital cameras because there are countless pictures on the safe queen gallery.Lets give Eric & Firehorse some cool beater pics to put in there galleries!!!!!:mad: Where are you Skunky & 1whobuys you guys have to have some that are about used up with all the Queeens you have!! Contender???? or better yet how about the Man himself Jerry has to have a beater around that has been used over & over come on lets see them:D :D :D

Great thread. . . .There's nothing that can bring a tear of joy to my INFI riddled eyes like seeing pics of heavily abused Busse blades. . . .

Beat the hell out of 'em boys. . . . It gives 'em character!!!!

Remember this,

Your Busse guarantee doesn't activate until the abuse begins. . . .If you want us to cover your knife with our guarantee. . . then you'd better cover your knife with bruises, scratches, and other "marks of love".

I wonder where the beater I traded to Progunner is? It's the only knife I didn't treat like a knife, and it shows.:p
 
As per Don Rac's request.

It almost isn't fair. All the beating I gave this one doesn't even show b/c Don wore all of the coating off before I got it. Oh well I guess I will just have to work the coat off of my Steel Heart.
 
If you look real close, the coating is starting to smooth mostly from splitting logs for the camp fire. It is starting to wear away from the edge on the other side, but not so you could see it in a pic very well.
