  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Beautifully hideous, or hideously beautiful?

Not for $80, huh-uh. If you could find one for $50-ish with a 6" blade, then it'd make a bit more sense...

The serrations on the handle could easily be tamed with some 400 grit (for a starter) sandpaper. If 400 is too wimpy, step down to 320. The tractions grooves won't put up too much fight against aluminum oxide :D Heck, STEEL doesn't stand a chance against good sandpaper.

One thing is for sure, this knife has a polarizing influence on knife knuts. I think $80 (on sale) is a bit steep as well, but it could be that this desert sand color is only available from AGR, and that could explain the price.

My craving for this knife is similar to the attraction that bizarre pawn shop guitars have on certain guitar players. You know it's no '57 blonde strat, but it's got its own vibe to it. Or maybe it's like those rotten duck eggs that people in some cultures love to eat. Something like that. :D

Well, I don't like tanto blades regardless of how nice the knife looks or who makes it.
And I don't care for combo-edges either.

But I like the color, and AUS-8 is fine with me.
If it was a drop-point or spear-tip, and a plain-edge, I would consider around $55.00 dollars.

I think they should put thumb studs on it...just for looks. That's the only way they could make it uglier than it is now. What'ya think?

I read some place that knife saved some marine snipers lives in Iraq. The story as I remember it is, the snipers were on the roof of a building that was being attacked being attacked by a group of insurgents at night. The snipers were lit up by a high voltage light. One of the snipers crawled over and cut thru the power wire with this particular knife. What I remember, the power going to the light was 220 volts and the handle of the knife is very insulated, but the blade was melted. With the lights out, the snipers put on their night vison and finished their job.The knife's on display at CRKT. Patrickjames

Well, this thread was supposed to be a celebration of the ugliness of this knife, and how all the horrible elements came together in such a fortuitous fashion that I now felt enough wrongs made a right.

Don't everybody take it too seriously! :)

I know more than a few people, including me, think this Busse is kind of ugly!
That didn't stop me from getting two of them!

I happen to like that CRKT, but then again i've been known for liking the fuglies like the Vaquero and numerous others.;)

For 5 bucks I might buy it, put it in the tool box and use it for a drywall knife. I have box cutters that have more eye appeal. However, to be fair it may look like hell but it may lend well as a work knife for construction contractors. Market it and sell it at the Home Depot and this sleeper may make millions.

Ha, those scales look like a Magic Eye puzzle:), great shape though.

I don't care for that knife. I don't like the blade shape etc. And I do not care for CRK&T at all.

People said the Glock was ugly, until they fired it, then they STILL said it was ugly. But many agree, including me, it is one of the best out there.

The knife is really not my cup of tea, but.....
Who cares what it looks like, if it gets the job done and does it well.

AG Russell website says Rob Simonich was paid for the idea behind this knife. Same handles as the one we are talking about, slightly different blade design:

It's kind of like watching a car wreck - it's awful, but you just can't look away.
