Becker Binge

I am quickly beginning to realize that my addiction and bingeing is not actually bad enough. I feel a bit left out. Not only am I NOT a Beckerhead (yet) but I'm seriously getting withdrawals. I need duplicates! I started with a 2 (very common gateway intoxicant) in late 2013 then picked up an 11 and a 16 about 6 months later. Thought that was good for a while then discovered this place early this year. Well. On two seperate night shifts I dropped a bomb on a 9, 7, 5, 4, 17, 15, 14, another 16, a 10 and also picked up a Kabar D2 Extreme and a 1117 Necker. You may be thinking "yeah that's not that many" and I guess that's true but here in Australia we pay quite a bit more than our wonderful American brethren. So, in those two infamous night shifts I dropped $1100 on delicious knives! Those two shifts were 3 days apart. I didn't say anything to the wife until after the 2nd purchase when she found the credit card bill where she promptly told me... "you can never have enough knives..". No I'm NOT kidding! However she did pinch one of the 16s, the 15, the 5 and the 11. So it begins again. I'm really willing to push the boundaries of her opinion..

She's a hell of a keeper! My wife recently came around I think. She told me she's glad I have a hobby and I'm not at a bar drinkin. I guess that's a compliment but I'll take it, better than the usual "You got ANOTHER knife?" To which I reply "Mmmmmhm..."

That's a hell of a binge too haha! And being there you don't get the instant gratification of free 2 day shipping. I think your at the very least on par with the rest...

Last April I was planning to get a classic usmc kabar when I stumbled upon the BK7, so I quickly bought that and a 13 to slip in the sheath. Then I found this place........

By May I ordered a 15 and 24, then a 4, followed by a 2. Come October I added a 16, then a 5. For Christmas I got the 9 and a 17 (had to round out the tweener set, of course). In January I got a 10, and just last week I doubled up on the 4,5, and 15.... just to be safe....

Now the 24 is in my pocket every day and some combination of the others join me each weekend on whatever hunting/fishing/hiking/camping adventure I get into. I've got other knives, some cost more, some cost less, but I just can't get away from beckers.

You guys are a terrible (terribly great!) influence.

Man, I love you guys.

I just don't have Beckeritis, that's easily curable, as Ethan is one of my closest friends on this planet, but I got another ailment that is killing my wallet......

Knyfeknutism......

I was diagnosed at a young age but it was in remission for many years......not so much now.

Just wait until you reach the point where, you're looking at a custom made bowie........and you are trying to convince your daughters that college is over rated, and that tuition money would be better spent on this one of a kind, kick ass knife.

And then there is archery.....holy shit on a shingle don't ever, ever, ever draw a string on a traditional bow........you will catch a dose that will never get better only worse.....

You could buy every single Becker currently made for what I have in just one knife in my vault.

Thank gawd Beckeritis has an inexpensive medication.....

I hear ya Moose, I shoot a Bear Legion compound bow, can be a bloody expensive pastime in itself. Always wanting to upgrade.

I kicked my Assassin out, put a Sage in it's place, can't hit shit but man, what an adventure. Pure Primal stirrings..........Mrs. Moose will attest.....good days of shooting are always accompanied by an over abundance of............amorousness........

Bent sticks are so much more fun than crunchntickers......

DAMN IT!! You mean there's ANOTHER thing I'm going to get hopelessly hooked on and spend all my banks hard earned credit on? (its free money right?). Thanks. Thanks a lot. Now you have me intrigued beyond all comprehension at this archery 'thing'. I honestly thought that my addiction to bladed sorcery NEEDS to be embiggened (that's a thing now isn't it?) but now this? Hmmm. Addictive personalities. Gotta love em. Good thing I never got into 'real' drugs.. <snickers, giggles, laughs uncontrollably, shits pants>.... ahem...

The thing is, shoot small furry shit with a pointy stick........a good knife is sure to follow......

It's primal, and I mean that. Taking small game with a bow, is amazing......hoping to bring in something more befitting a table of guests in the fall.......

Either way, I can take out 6 arrows, shoot for 2 hrs, put out 200 + shots......and walk back in with 6 arrows.....F yeah. Show me a rifle that can do that.......

10,000 years we been hunting and eating on pointy sticks.......Mrs. Moose says pun intended.....

BK12-1

Agh! Moose! I've been eyeing different recurves for the past year, trying to decide which one to spend my hard earned greenbacks on.

Thought I'd finally gotten comfortable putting that purchase off.

Thanks a lot.

I am sooooo glad you guys all posted up!

I was beginning to think that I had a Becker problem but realize that I am but a mere beginner.

The sickness of having a "user" and a "keeper" of the same model is something I have been infected with a long time ago, but with Becker Knives, I can actually afford it.

You know what they say "one is none and two is one".

Always good to have a spare/backup.

Guess my infection is only at the first stage, I don't have users and keepers, really the only keeper I have is Ka-Bar MK1 and that's just because the leather is so pertty. Other than that, I'd make a crappy collector hobbyist because I like to use everything. I'd open that vintage original sealed NIB Millennium Falcon and fly that shit across the galaxy from the bedroom to the bathroom.

To be frankly honest I have been toying with the idea of getting a bow for quite some time I just have to put a bit more concerted effort into researching what would be the right one for me. And as you very eloquently put it, its that primal feeling that allures me the most plus it also gives the critter(s) more of a sporting chance whilst hunting it/them.
Another big reason is also because it is an absolute nightmare to get a firearms license here in Aus too. Our Government sure as s#!t don't want you to be armed. As far as I'm aware though you don't need a license for a bow. I think. Gas, you wanna chime in here mate? Do you need to be licensed for a bow over here?
