Would anyone be interested in a comparison? Anyone want to know if the Hellion actually works as a knife and is not just a mall ninja toy???

Ik I always like seeing a nice review or comparison. I like getting peoples different opinions on stuff, especially knives.

The hellion is one crazy looking piece..... Would be interested.... Like the show and have seen a little action from that knife.... But let's see since side by side....

I am always interested in a knife review, that there isn't many off. The Hellion is a very special design. I would be interesting to hear, if it really is a functional design, or is it is just another designed to spin money because of its looks.

The Hellion is definitely interesting. Id like to see it's actually functionality though. I know how great the 10 is, but yeah even a comparison would be cool too.

A comparison & review would be great ! From the description on the site, about the man that designed it, it should be the best thing since sliced bread.

One is made by a company that says it has a lifetime warranty, but makes you jump through hoops and walk on fire to get a replacement, hence I don't carry them any more, the other is called Becker Knife and Tool.

'nuff said, review done. :-)

well, my input is: they make a knife that Becker doesn't, and never will, it's a different animal. they are worthy of their own use.

additionally, i've never had to use the warranty on any of them. they both have pretty high standards, and make a pretty good product.

so i can't speak to the warranty, but chances are, you'll never need it. just don't baton them or if you do, do it right ;)

i looked for people breaking them, and didn't mind many but nothing about warranty issues. grain of salt.

Should be able to post pics this weekend. I heard a rumor about a possible new knife on Xmas. So I will wait and try and do the comparisons on Xmas or the day after.

You take 'em edge to edge in a vice yet?

Seems like a strange pair to compare. I could see picking two that both claim to be the best all around survival tool, which would be the Hellion and the Tom Brown Tracker. I know they're both from the same Co. but they do both have wild design and claim to be the solution for any and all 'survival' tasks. Why don't you compare the Hellion and the Machax, at least they have a similar arc to them:confused::rolleyes:

I'm guessing that is directed at me. :)

If I even liked or respected TOPS anymore, I'd go for it.

Unlike Ethan and Mike, who both contacted me and offered replacements, (which I turned down, people still ask me if I submitted them for warranty replacement) I'd bet the farm TOPS would not even consider it.

honestly that hellion looks like a joke

So the Hellion is actually a very functional knife. It it definitely a sitting around the campfire whittling knife as the edge on top and saw teeth make it a bit awkward to carve a spoon or whatnot. It chops very well. The saw actually works and works well. It will baton wood decently. You lose some power because of the saw teeth but since they are so wide it did better than I originally thought. Sorry I don't have pics yet. I am so busy when I actually get out into the woods, I forget to take a camera or forget to snap pictures.
