Becker BK16 TWEENER

Still a lot of meat in that skeletonized tang.... kinda surprised that it wasn't a bit leaner under there. This is a GOOD thing.

any closer to the edges than 5/32" and you're weakening the knife, so I'd expect that plus a little margin, plus extra material around the first bolt-hole, which is in the high-stress area for prying.
I really like what they did underneath.

well, they were pretty sure about that ...

but they couldn't figure out where all that damasteel slated for the special Machaxesn went too :)

mmm, can you imagine a Machax in Damasteel? oh yeah!

I keep imagining the mini mag, and 14 in CSM.
Very sexy.

Does anyone know if micarta scales will be offered when this knife is released? Sorry if this has been addressed on another thread I haven't been able to find it. Also, anyone know what kind of sheath to expect? Is it a neck sheath or a belt sheath? Same as BK2 sheath but smaller?
Thanks.

EDIT: Never mind, sorry, I found BK16 info on tomars and answered my own questions. Super excited for this knife!

This is how I strip a BKT

So you beat it with a stick until the coating just melts off? Dang that is cool.

Can someone please tell me when the BK16 will be available? I've read from previous posts "after the SHOT show", but that was months ago! Man, I'm really looking forward to this!

The BK15, BK16, BK17 are all avail right now, in the laser etched "First Production Run" & with "Ethan Beckers" signature also laser etched into the blade. GOOD GOD MAN, where have you been ? LOL :D Only avail at one place, the knife superstore that is in Sevierville Tennesse.

The regular ones will be out April 1st, or there abouts. The BK16 FPR has a sabre grind, where as the production one will have a full flat grind.

after shot show? who said that? :D

lies i tell you, lies!!! :D

okay, no, it's true, definitely AFTER shot show. as above. now, or wait for production in April 1st.

Thanks, Twinstick and Bladite.

I've been kind of out of the loop haha. (currently in the Stan)

I've collected knives since I was a boy, but I'm just getting on board with the Beckers. Now that I'm 25, my tastes are a bit more refined!

I hope the price of the tweeners is reasonable.
Alot of knife prices are way too high these days

For some reason knife sales are very hot these days. I don't know how the dealers are doing but knives on the BF sales forums seem to sell pretty well and the used knives that I watch on ebay sell for very good prices, sometimes even higher than what I find them for online from dealers. So to some extent supply and demand is to blame.

I don't know that the prices on the limited edition models are all that bad, if they are still available, but some of us are severely income-challenged. If you google search for Becker BK16 you will find lots of online sellers that already have them listed with prices, even though they don't have them in stock yet, so you can see what the pricing might be. I have no clue when they will actually be available though.
