I was thinking if the spine was ground down to near match the belly sweep and then have the tip end swedes Ala bk4 style.

I think that might be too swashbucklingly absurd.
Then again, I just made up the word "swashbucklingly" so what do I know about things being too absurd...

Yep, too swashbuckingly for me as well.

I am digging the choil mod. I would not want to take away any strength though, seeing how this thing is MEANT to chop. Maybe just make the sharp edge by grips end 1/4"-1/2" further away ? That would be it for me. I have a few KLO's & REALLY like the larger sweet spot in this design. It seems that the designers knew a thing or two, LOL !!!

That is the first thing i noticed with my KLO's. They bite wicked deep, but only if you hit the small sweet spot.

I agree that the 'choil' area needs a bit more room. It's basically there, but if you just dull the edge for another 1/4" you'd have enough. Cutting it out makes it look too short to be strong enough for the rest of the blade (IMO).

I didn't really take that much off, imo, for the choil. It could be less, fo sho. Besides, it's just GIMPed, haha. :thumbup:

I do too. The clip kinda makes the spine curve the opposite of the recurve edge.

Ah yes, umbrella! That's why you're successful Ethan. Thank you sir. My renderings are more on the aesthetic side, however, as they never take balance, etc, into account. I thought that bolo mod looked pretty cool. :thumbup: Maybe one of these days I'll mod it. For now though, not a chance. I want to learn this thing.

Ethan, I have a question. What is the grind angle on the 21? I'm sure there was some compromise when it came to that decision. 20° more slicey dicey, 30-35° more choppy, etc. What variables, etc, were taken into account to make the final decision for the grind angle?
